I lost everything in a fire during my time at Twitter. No one rushed me back to work. Coworkers rallied their teams to a GoFundMe set up for me and my cat. My manager gave me a discreet bonus to help and only apologized that it wasnt more. I will never forget any of it. #OneTeam  <3

Follow the #oneteam hashtag today. Heartbreaking stories.

Meanwhile, Elon fucking BRAGS about firing half his people. He’s gloating. He’s proud of it. Wtf. And still the Elon Stans will consider Elon a hero of business and probably talk about how billionaires are job creators. What a joke.

Fuck Elon. He’s a spoiled rich kid with no real friends. That would be fine but don’t take out your insecurities on working Americans.

    • Elon is the light, Elon is the way.palimpsest
    • Lucky they have a strong union.PhanLo
    • Seeing as you have insight –what does such a large workforce actually do all day in a company like that? I don't see much dev, but they have huge dev teams, no?Nairn
    • elon stan sounds like a country singerhans_glib
    • Regardless, the Musky one is being a total fuckpig about this. As per usual.Nairn
    • Wow lots of downvotes. Guess y’all out here sucking elons dick. If you’re lucky, he’ll get your wife pregnant and you’ll be set for lifenb

    • Mate it's not Elon, it's business. Did you know Binance invested $400M in this deal?
Did you know the deal was on leverage?
      grafician
    • that means twitter has A LOT of debt to repay quickly and zero cash standing aroundgrafician
    • Everybody is firing people btw https://news.yahoo.c…grafician
    • From what I can see in that #oneteam stream, not engineering getting fired or important poeple to run twitter

Just as I told you before and you got mad
      grafician
    • Just business? Elon's whole plan during the first backout and the talk of firing folks was to devalue the company for a cheaper buy.garbage
    • Craven capitalism is the only thing he's good at. He's lucky that he was born with house money safety net that means that he can never actually fuck up.garbage
    • Bro blame the last CEO who promised that Elon's takeover would go smoothly, when knowing fully well who Elon was. Greedy bastards thought they won so easily?grafician
    • Bro blame the last CEO and everybody pushing for the deal even tho' Elon didn't want it anymore.

I don't care about Elon, but yeah it's just business
      grafician
    • And grown ass people working at one of the biggest comps in SF with $100K salaries getting exposed like this...yeah suregrafician
    • First paragraph is not mine, I copied from twitter. The rest is my commentary. Sorry I meant to post the link. It stays!nb
    • A recession is coming, tech is down 70-80% who tf thinks they deserve shit in Silicon valley when the house is on fire?!grafician
    • That said, I did work embedded with a twitter product team VERY briefly and I work in tech so I have some context to all thisnb
    • @graf It's just business, if just business is one spoiled brat is given the keys to a thousand cars while actual innovators are trying to build one from scratchgarbage
    • The only thing Musk drives is late-stage capitalism straight into a wall that he's too stupid to see, but he also doesn't care because he's never had to.garbage
    • audi, vw, gm already sigining out their advertising from twitt.. kinda makes sense not to run your ads on a tesla platform...neverscared
    • lots of other big boys too...neverscared
    • elon musk incest show equals twitter...neverscared
    • The world will be just fine without this pale cuck fuckcrazyprick
    • "I lost everything in a fire during my time at Twitter."
This is insensitive to people who actually lost everything in a literal fire.
      palimpsest
    • ^ I think it was a literal fire.monNom

    • @nb i usually pop in here for a laugh or two occasionally and to remember happier times on this site... i find Elon stans just really miserable people and itjonny_quest_lives
    • shows in some of their comments. having been through layoffs myself I get it's business. but this is something more sinister based on my experiencejonny_quest_lives
    • Layoffs should be held with some form of dignity and people saying "now they have to get a real job" Fuck off! All jobs are real!jonny_quest_lives
    • don't usually get riled up but shitting on workers on what based on my experience could be the worst day of their lives is pretty fucked.jonny_quest_lives
    • you can hate elon, you can hate twitter as an entity but assuming people who were hired for their technical skills or to fulfill a role the previous ownersjonny_quest_lives
    • deemed necessary for day to day operations are somehow out to get you or part of a right wing agenda or grifting/redundant is a pretty shitty takejonny_quest_lives
    • i meant to write left wing agenda but whatever the only agenda seems to be to prop up musk as as the good guy in this scenario and somehow right wing peoplejonny_quest_lives
    • were punished by twitter and this is some sort of reckoning that these employees brought on themselves.jonny_quest_lives
    • Me grabs popcorn and watches the impulsive, know-it-all, attention whore, man-child, and megalomaniac Elon Mook vaporize his 44 Billion dollar investment.utopian
    • How much net profit has twitter made?shapesalad
    • Cheap money gave us the dot com crash, the sub prime crash, and now... the tech/crypto crash. Goodbye twitter and meta's metaverse.shapesalad
    • Fed repeats the same mistakes over and over again. Reduce rates, make capital cheap, flood market, inflation, crash, high rates, depression... and repeat.shapesalad
    • *correction* Reduce rates, make capital cheap, flood market, inflation, high rates, crash, depression... then stimulate growth with low low rates... and repeat.shapesalad
    • Just go back to the great depression and look at the cycles. Same old same old. Only now the numbers have a lot more 000,0000,000,000,000... on them.shapesalad
    • Eventually it'll just collapses as a monetary system, you know... just like the roman empire did and all those other civilisations.shapesalad
    • Isn't it about 500 years on average per civilisation. Anyway.. Twitter is just a product of the past decades cheap cheap capital.shapesalad
    • Agree. It's a company that doesnt make anything. A corporate tapeworm.zardoz
