    Cynicism, or, rather, pragmatism/realism.

We're approaching 8 billion people on earth. We are creatures of habit and comfort. I don't believe for a few second, that people changing their ways will be remotely close to the defining factor in combating climate change. People (on a global level) are too uninformed, too lazy, too indifferent. Changing their ways & views is relevant, but WAYYYYY too slow a method.

I recycle, I occasionally take trains instead of planes, I turn off the electronics on standby, I vote for climate-friendly politicians. As a some Swedish activist said, "blah, blah, blah". Will this solve the crisis? It will be a factor, but nuh uh. The informed city-dweller in developed countries are doing something, but that's a sub-percentile demographic.

The solution, if there ever comes one, will be breakthroughs i technology. Fusion energy, fully electric cars, AI, robots, whatever. The solution has to be convenient for people to adopt, and will be one that doesn't disrupt capitalism, who's fighting teeth and claw against all obstacles of profit.

    • FYI recycling is a bit of a sham. Instead, buy absolutely nothing if you can. If you can’t, just don’t buy anything with any plastic, ever.nb
    • It’s obviously impossible but there are many options. For example, I won’t buy drinks that come in plastic bottles. Only metal cans or glass. It mattersnb
