Been taking Lexapro since March for anxiety, but generally feeling pretty dull and low energy despite my anxiety being completely helped by it.
Therapist felt pretty sure I've got multiple characteristics of ADHD and while reading more about it over the past couple weeks, I checked so many boxes; inability to focus, busy mind, easily distracted, excited about things I want to do but never committing to doing them. For example, every day I tell myself I'm going to work on my music project at night, and every night I fail at doing it, month after month.
Talked to my doctor about Wellbutrin this week and added it to the mix a couple days ago. Holy hell, I feel like a totally different, better, more energized, more enthusiastic, more satisfied, more balanced person. I felt it kick in within hours. I can really feel the benefits right now - it's 5pm on a Friday, ordinarily I'd call it a day but I am so enjoying some coding work outside in my backyard, not even bothered by my kids inside arguing about toys, just completely content and locked in and focused on what I'm doing.
This combo is amazing. I can't remember the last time I felt this chill and even-keeled.
- it's weird to see a review for medication sold through commercialsimbecile
- have a mate has been trying to get assessed for ADHD for years in the UK. waiting lists are huge as a lot of folks on anxiety and depression meds unnecessarilykingsteven
- he had enough, this summer, went private and was given a date 8 months away (next year some time) - been in a similar situation recently and it's not promisingkingsteven
- So glad you got that dialed in!scarabin
- I dealt with and posted about Dr big anxiety a while back and ended up with 25mg Zoloft. It’s been a miracle maker for me.HijoDMaite
- Even though I hate the fact that I’m on any medication. :(HijoDMaite
- I ditched lexapro almost immediately because of how absolutely flat it made me. My partner could barely get a response out of me I was so devoid of interest inBuddhaHat
- ....anything at all. Good chance she would have left me back then if I hadn't stopped it, I must have been so depressing to be around. Glad you found a good mixBuddhaHat

- It's been 4-ish days since starting it and I don't remember feeling this good since my 20s. It's wild. I'm finding myself so much less annoyed by a multitude...mg33
- of things that typically annoy me. So much more focused and less distracted. Watched two episodes of a show last night without barely ever reaching for my phonemg33
- to simultaneously half-watch the show and endlessly scroll an app or read crap on the web. it felt liberating.mg33
- Have you continued the Lexapro on a smaller dose? they prescribe Bupropion (generic Wellbutrin) for smoking cessation here. I stopped smoking (weed and tobaco)kingsteven
- recently (for the nth time) to help with anxiety but suspect i have undiagnosed ADHD. have been using weed to focus for 20 years but it's illegal here, kingsteven
- expensive, and we usually have no choice of strain so I need to try and convince my doc to get me on ADHD meds (without waiting years for assessment) i findkingsteven
- i'm not to keen on the idea of default anxiety/ depression meds that do nothing to help focus as not being able to focus is a big part of what makes me anxiouskingsteven
- I'm still on Lexapro 5mg. 10mg was too much. 5mg does just what I need it to do.mg33
- On Buspirone for anxiety now. Week 2. As usual, no real effect :-/jagara
