- I tried doing something similar to an old Razer mouse, thinking it'd be a great product if I could crack it. I could not. I see now how I could do it though.Nairn
- ...I'd tried cutting 3d nets in leather to cover, and then thinner suede, neither of which worked. Need to make a form in something Not A Mouse...Nairn
- ...then damp and mould around it to fit. The, transplant to the mouse actual. Sounds like a pain in the ass though.Nairn
- 3M™ Thermal Bonding Film 583imbecile
- Probably won't work on the suede undersurface of leather, never mind the ripples and ridges you'd get from not wetting and moulding.Nairn
- https://www.toastmad…imbecile
- Warps over more than one dimension are the problem here tho. Flat and cylindrical are ok. Spheroidal, etc.. less so.Nairn
- Woah. $99 for a simple leather laptop lid cover? Why the fuck am I not doing this?Nairn
- And here i was trying to be inspirational. I've wrapped phones in alcantara using 3M adhesivesimbecile
- weaved bamboo would be nice. You'll get leather hand smell from that.shapesalad
- Alcantara's a bit of a different beast to real leather though, in terms of bonding. Suede side's a real fucker to bond with sheet adhesives.Nairn
- It's years since I've worked with alcantara - shit stank to high heaven when laser-cut, if I remember right. Interesting material, mind.Nairn
- So anyway, I posted it because I think its tackydrgs
- we did leather as well, heavily scored and difficult to seat, in the end it obviously wasn't viable, but the posted image? easily doable with thin leatherimbecile
- nothing stopping you from doing this https://i.shgcdn.com…imbecile
- Thin leather's qualitatively different and still 'stiff' without treatment. Also looks different to <this. Trust me, I've played quite a bit with leather :)Nairn
- As have iimbecile
- Well, my dick's 1mm bigger than yours...Nairn
