Any of you use room air purifiers?

I just finished my usual Sunday housework and, like always, I was shocked by the sheer amount of dust that settles on surfaces after just a week.

So, I'm thinking of getting something like this:

Do they help? Should I even bother?

    • Yes. Run a good filter for a few hours and you smell and feel the difference.nb
    • That seems overpriced. Get an ugly dumb powerful one.nb
    • (Probably does nothing against Covid.)nb
    • Haha! I don't need it to suck up Covid, I just need it to help with the amount of dust I have to clean off surfaces every week.Continuity
    • mediamarkt is only good to look up the product, everything is overpriced with a decent 15-20% minimum marginsted
    • I bought two these, really good.

    • I have had the Levoit Air Purifiers for over a year because of my seasonal allergies, they really helped a lot.utopian
    • Thanks fellas, I'll have to look into it. Bonus points if one of these things could help me not wake up every fucking morning all congested.Continuity
    • Make sure it's an ionizer.sea_sea
    • For allergen, get HEPA filter for air purifier. For your dust problem airpurifier won't help much. You need to take a look at your air duct and furnance filter.pango
    • No air ducts, and it's hot water heat through a radiator.Continuity
    • Replacement filters are expensive. You should just be regularly dusting, sweeping, vacuuming. Then use the hepa filter to purify the air.nb
    • Just clean your room guynb
    • I do, once a week!Continuity
    • +1 for Levoit. I also have Awair that integrated with humidifier through IFTTT to level humidityzaq
    • maybe you just live in a dusty area. shut all your windows.pango
    • I have two Phillips ones in our home, we are really clean but the hepa filters get heavy with fine dust every 6 months. The replacement filters are $50slappy
    • Dust comes from 3 place: pollution/constructi... outside, clothes you wear and your skin. Solution = close windows, be naked, use moisturiser.shapesalad
    • 1 in office, 1 in bedroom. https://www.amazon.c… change your HVAC filter every monthimbecile
    • Uh.. it's like shaving or mowing a yard. Part of weekly cleaning... Did u not have chores growing updeathboy
