    we’ve been back in nz for a couple months now and settling in to the new house, kids in school, wife catching up with people after 15 years away. I really thought i’d miss the studio, etc. but finding that it was actually exhausting and am enjoying the freedom that comes with less. i’ve not gotten back into painting again either and think it might be a while yet. our local beach is a nude beach, so there are plenty of volunteers to model and i’ve taken a sketchbook a few times but mostly its nice to just take a beer and a book and chat with jess. overall, feeling more calm.
