Fusion 123 is another player in this space that I've been doing tests with. It's more CAD/Sketchup like, because you use actual measurements.
I've used Blender and 3D Studio Max at a very amateur level, and found Fusion 123 pretty easy to come to grips with.
- I've heard decent things about that. And I agree, Blender is anything but basic. It's one of the most complex, sprawling pieces of software I've ever encounteremonospaced
