A friend of mine recently moved to NYC, and he left behind an old Suzuki Samurai. It wasn't selling, and it didn't run so he was going to donate it. I said "Fuck that, free car".

This thing is a Beater with a capitol B. It looks deranged. Some of the previous owners have modded the hell out of this thing, and I'm still finding surprises. It hasn't moved since last October.

Curbside work: replaced the water pump, adjusted belts, re-spliced some wires from some junky's failed attempt to hotwire the damn thing. By some miracle we got it home, and it's currently curbed parked on the hill out front because the parking brake has gone out.

I'm new to this, but this is the way to learn. This is going to be fun as fuck, and my neighbors are going to hate me for having this monstrosity out in the open.

Are there any gearheads here / a better thread for this project?

Also open to any names for the beast.

    • NICE. The 12 year old inside me (ssh, don't tell the cops) would f'ing love one of these.

I think 'Beast' would do :)

    • You know, detritus has a nice ring to it.

I'm not going to name it until it's steady rolling.
