How do you prepare for a long intercontinental flight?
Looking for some alternative solutions to survive more than 26h of static travel, In my previous trips I tried out the following things:

    - Getting totally fucked-up before
    - Picking better transfer location where I can spend some time
    - Pre-flight sleeping and staying awake for the entire trip
    - No pre-flight sleeping at all and being the snored through the flight asshole on the plane

Right now I have 3 days to figure out what's the best, suggest something what I can try out :)

    • Audio book.DRIFTMONKEY
    • wine and naps are how i do it. so i can wake and stretch in between wine and naps.capn_ron
    • frequent masturbationautoflavour
    • You pray you get as lucky as I did when I flew to Tokyo in 2006. Was on a 747 that wasn't full at all. Ended up having three seats to myself,mg33
    • slept laying down for more than half the 14 hour flight. It was awesome. I could have taken a full five seats in the middle row.mg33
    • I also took Tylenol sleep time pills, which helped a lot. Took a pillow of my own.mg33
    • Two antihistamines an hour before takeoff so I sleep and start synching up with the destination time.i_monk
    • last couple of flights I load up my phone with podcasts and achieve this half listening/half asleep state the whole flightfourth
    • Praying to Allah helpscannonball1978
    • I hope you don't smoke. 26 hrs travel time will do you in. Bring nicotine gum.Continuity
    • Also: when do your flight actually leave? When I went on my Vietnam trip a couple of years ago, my departing flight was late in the evening, so it wasn't ...Continuity
    • ... that difficult to maintain a normal-ish rhythm, at least until landing in Abu Dhabi for my connecting flight some 3 hours later.Continuity
    • (the time at Abu Dhabi airport was three hours, no the flight to there from Germany)Continuity
    • I sound like a dad but avoid caffeine and alcohol, drink lots of water and take a lot of movies/reading/podca... You'll pass out eventually...Mattjanz3n
    • and at least you wont feel like a bag of total shit when you wakeup. I just did a 24 hour flight to Asia 5 days ago and this worked for me. Oh and MelatoninMattjanz3n
    • switch + zeldauan
    • Bose QC20i to get some sleep in your own silent little bubble. Sleep makes ALL the difference particularly if you have a connection flight at other end...microkorg
    • ... otherwise you are completely fucked when you land and if your connection is delayed then you aint gonna find anywhere comfy to sleep in an airport.microkorg
    • My brothers tip: A Valium and a shot of whisky. You'll wake up 17 hours later with drool on your chin. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are now landing in..."jagara
    • Buy one of those sleep masks. Much easier to sleep if it's completely dark.yuekit
    • Good night sleep night before. Noise cancelling headphones. Eye mask. Set watch to destination time. Act accordingly.shapesalad
    • Avoid the coffee. Green tea if they have. 1 beer is refreshing. Whiskey + Ginger Ale refreshes your nose/mouth and smells great on a flight.shapesalad
    • Watch the documentaries they have not the flights. Listen to the guest playlists not he music channels. Sleep when it's night time for your destination.shapesalad
    • Bring toothbrush, comb, wet towel face wipes, eye mask, comfy noise blocking headphones, a thick knit cardigan or hoodie, aftershave in small muji spray bottle.shapesalad
    • ^this guy fucksdrgs
    • Valium + alcoholspunji
    • ^ Sorry wasn't looking at the screen as I typed and just hit save without proofing it. Auto-corrected to some nonsense. hahashapesalad
    • I fly to China and SE Asia at least 5x a year for work. My best advice is to get your hands on some Ambien/some edibles, pack plenty of movies on your computerridlerontheroof
    • One word: melatonin, available at any pharmacy. Good luck!martinadolfsson
    • My mates always take valium. It's a good look watching them drool like a zombie.PhanLo
    • Agree with cannonball, I would add, during. Midflight stand on your seat and yell Allah Akbar 3 times as loud as you can.robotron3k
    • Fun fact: You can fly with tiny liquor bottles in your carry on.garbage
    • Podcasts: love and radio, ear hustle, the truth.shellie
    • LSD obvs

    • Fun fact: 26h flights probably have free liquor

    • How did I forget... especially if you're on coach, go to the bathroom and change into a silk kimono. Return to seat. LIVE LIFE.mg33
    • Exactly what I need. I was stuck between boarding the last flight early, using all seats in my row for frequent masturbation and overdosing lsd in Abu Dhabi.
      ********
    • I actually would leave Heathrow in that silk kimono :D 13h on a 777 will be no joke, but after Singapore we have really nice upper deck seats on an A380
