My dad died when he was 46. Same age as Hoffman. He was an addict for as long as I can remember, fighting a lifetime battle with his addictions, loving me, my sister and my mother to death. Every step of the way.
I don't know who you are, throwing around phrases like 'piece of shit' or 'weak cunt'. I don't know who you are or who or what made you into the men you are today.
I know who made me into the man I am today. Who taught me how the world is never black and white. Who taught me you should never be too sure of yourself about anything. Empathy. Compassion. Not to be afraid to see yourself with all your weaknesses and shortcomings. To have the feeling that you're accountable for your words, even behind an anonymous username on the internet.
Not to be an asshole.I don't know you and I don't know what your dads taught or tried to teach you. But I'm ok with mine. Really, I am.
