I support an org called 10x10 (http://10x10act.org/) and though it focuses on educating girls globally, the stats are pretty powerful. For example:
when 10% or more girls go to school, the national gdp goes up on average 3% (that's huge).
educated girls are 50% more likely to immunize their children
...they tend to marry later and have fewer children...crops rise, etc.
