    tjw0511 - keep in mind that a lot of companies do real background checks. So if you say you were a freelancer or you left in good terms or your reference was not the one who supervised your work - then you risk getting caught.
    Unless your formal boss is real evil, there shouldn't be a problem. Just put down "Terminated - not performance or discipline related"
    This is a tough environment, everyone knows people get fired for no reason at all, and your honesty is probably more beneficial than trying to come up with all different ways of avoiding what happened.
