I've seen laptops get the lines like you are talking about. Honestly if you are up for a challenge, you may consider ordering a replacement display from HP and doing it yourself. I have replaced quite a few laptop screens and I can tell you it's pretty simple. Usually you pop two plastic caps off both sides of the display hinge, unscrew two screws, unplug a data cable, and the whole screen comes off. Then just do the reverse with the replacement screen.
It get's kind of pricey if you take it into a shop, and may not be worth the investment. Doing it yourself you could save some money and make it more economical than a buying a replacement.
- mine started showing up with one. solid green vertical one pixel all the way down...only sometimes though. it looks like a ps guidelvl_13
- a photoshop guide and it trips me out. if i press right above the monitor i can get it to disapear too.lvl_13
- haha sweet. I know with dead pixels sometimes you can "rub them out" and they go away permanently.designbot
