Here is how I caused the worst storm in our city for 25 years.
Have been a bit pissed-off with work in general and clients in particular. I decide on Friday night I am going to give myself a day off on Monday (today). We get a little rain and thunder at our place last night but not much to worry about. Therein lies my excuse – I hurt my back dragging the kids’ playhouse inside from the storm, can’t get up, need day off, etc.
I text my boss, but get no reply. I drive the wife to work and the boys to day-care and plan my indulgent day of rest. On the radio I hear that there has been major damage caused in the suburb where my boss lives, so I decide to give him a ring and see what’s what, since I got no reply to my text.
“No power, trees down, roofs blown off, 2 inches of hail, driveway blocked, can’t come in to work...”
So now because I am such a whimp I am sitting at work pretending to have a sore back and dealing with a bunch of lobotomised stroke victims (my clients) instead of lying on the couch watching movies and sneaking off for a little bit of a fap.
This kind of thing happens all the time. I am the instrument of God. If only I could use this power to my advantage...
- it's only righthallelujah
