As far as I know (and I fly often) you can bring liquid or gels less than 3oz. All of these should be placed in a single zipper style sandwich bag. When you go through security remove it from your bag and have it go through seperate.
Also, baggage limits have changed for many American flights. Weight limits have changed... I think American ailines actually chanrges you for *any bag you check (fuck you AA). So have a bit of cash just in case.
I'm actually flying tomorrow :)
