you think a national francise has much less beaurocracy? They've got a lot of money ridding on a proper launch. I'm betting the research, strategy and all other elements that are behind this 'simple' website are well above 6 figures.
The interface may be simple as shit, but the content, art direction, photography, positioning of the brand... all the stuff that really makes the website, is well considered. WIth all that in place, sure you could put this together for a couple grand, if not less... but that's like saying you could design the Google homepage in a couple of minutes. It looses sight of the value behind the interface.
