  As for actually building your own theme....what I do is to view the source code that's output from your wordpress site, open up the css file(s), and start picking at the classes and IDs and basically just get to hacking.

  I don't think there's much of a real science to it other than to just go for it step by step.

  I've only made a couple themes and they aren't worth sharing, but I started out by customizing just 1 piece at a time and going from there.

  Is anyone going to the wordpress conference this weekend? I am!!!
