I think this series has huge potential. Well, they all do, People will always love Star Trek if it's done well. It's like Star Wars or Bond.

Jason Issacs as Captain Gabriel Lorca:
“Star Trek: Discovery” will consist of fifteen episodes for its first season with the initial eight kicking off weekly from September 24th, and the remaining seven starting in January. The show will be available on CBS All Access in the U.S. and Netflix outside North America.

So what is the Klingon history?
In the original series they look pretty much human, by TNG they look like Warf but in this and the Chris Pine timeline they are kind of inbetween.
Is there a reason or should I just sit back and suspend disbelief?
- Could be the JJ timeline. I'll watch the trailer again.CyBrainX

I think it's great overall. The dialogue is pretty lame at times but visually it's superb and the story is fairly interesting so far. I look forward to more...

It's all very different and so unknown that it's hard to tell who good it will be but there's a little too much fighting and running. I liked the end and the Federation subplot.

Star Trek: Mass Effect
Clunky expository dialogue.
Lens flares everywhere.
I'll download it anyway.

WANT TO SEEEE!

"You'll never learn to speak Vulcan. You're tongue is too human."
The kid is too young to be Spock. 10 years before Kirk, Spock is serving under Captain Pike.
However, this doesn't mean we can't have Spock as a young adult in this series. Is Zachary Quinto in the house??

What I don't get is that Sarus character isn't such a careless fuckface right, he is the one who is always overreacting right?
So why not spend the discovery part of the episode investigating the murder and the rest can remain on that other ship?
tilly should use that spore emanation flux or "some shit" to reconstruct the homicide, because as we know lieutenant theotherginger can see through time (or something like that) and in startrek you can suck out memories from heads and not just one way. and maybe this way it will make more sense how the fakk discovery's crew knew the secret of ash
job done, go home.

This explains pretty much everything.
http://time.com/4952491/star-tre…As young as Sarek looks he's only 10 years away from a heart attack.

I have to say, using Sarek as a mentor for the main character is very cool. As a lifelong fan, I pretty much wet my Star Trek pantaloons.

Damn, those Mirror verse uniforms are nice.

The show in itself, is passable. It just should be called something else. If the words "Federation, Star Fleet and Klingons" were removed from the script, you are left with basically nothing embodying Trek.

I survived the first season, not watching second.
First interracial kiss on TV was in the original series (although aliens made them do it). I want stuff like that in Star Trek, but shoving it in my face - no thanks.

First episode was pretty entertaining. I liked the look and feel of the show. The opening theme and titles were pretty awesome. Dialogue was a bit clunky, but I'll be on board for this first season to see where it goes.

I'm digging it, it's very different than the previous shows but I'm ok with this.

I just read this review. I couldn't agree more.

Luv this show but the CGI on the flagship flyover look like pre Babylon 5 gci

I enjoyed the first season and thought it was the best first season any of these shows had other than the original series. For that reason I'm hanging on but the second season is not as good. There are too many subplots but there are good things going on with the potential for very good things later.
