- ENHANCEdetritus
- Looks like every other sedan on the market today. Meh!utopian
- I kind of like that anonymity with Tesla's design. it's sleek without being showy and doesn't 'try to be an electric car'.detritus
- It does resemble the new Chevy Malibu:
http://o.aolcdn.com/…ETM - no, no it doesn'tmonospaced
- In this picture yes, yes it does.ETM
- check your eyesmonospaced
- I guess the general shape maybe.
http://media-cdn.tim…dbloc - I suppose since they both have headlights, and front end, with wheels, sure. Beyond that, not in the slightest.monospaced
- ^ This guy.... as usual.ETM
- Sorry you lack ability to tell the difference between two very different things. :)monospaced

this was supposed to be the E model in order to complete the S-E-X Tesla series... but Ford cockblocked them from using the "Model E" ... so the nerds that they are, they flipped the E into a 3

I'm sorry, I just cannot get into these things, they look like a KIA Optima to me and I hate that car.
- I think it's more the technology than the look.dbloc
- dbloc... you're a designer... slap yourself for what you just typed... shame on you!PonyBoy
- Maybe, dunno it's just medrake-von-drake
- it's not just youPonyBoy
- Optima is a good looking car. Peter Schreyer is one of the best car designers there is.vwsung18t

Lmao I saw one yesterday parked here in San Jose

For being a so called "innovative and ground breaking" company, I find all the Tesla cars just boring, unimaginative and pedestrian at best.
- couldn't agree more... every model is a snoozerPonyBoy
- I want them to succeed, but for the price point I find their design lacking. Would rather own a host of German cars before a Tesla.sublocked
- I am surprised people don't like the design here. I think they are the best out there, for what they are.formed
- BMW/Mercedes have been awful for years now, Audi is getting better (the first two seem to be getting worse, esp Mercedes)formed
- I had a recent 3 series. It was awesome.sublocked
- Some are nice, I like my M3, but I had a loaner 5 series and it was awfulformed
- Surely its the idea of producing the best electric car that doesn't look or feel like a piece of shit, and isn't too cool for schoolIanbolton

A new report in Britain’s Autocar claims the Tesla Model III will have a range of 300 miles and performance equal to the vaunted BMW M3, which romps to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds
If those are true, even if it's the super upgraded version and it looks anything like these renderings, it'll be another game changer.
- totally, it's the technology we're looking at here. They're changing the face of the way we use cars for the betterIanbolton

My cousin has one. I fucking hate these cars. The battery is empty all the time..its fun when you are in the middle of nowhere!

I don't like the design and all the ignorance that goes with them. Buyers are putting themselves as some kind of automotive Jesus and lord savior XVI of us all. But buying a new car that is powered with electricity generated from fossil sources won't change your footprint.
I have that one contact on FB who had a german SUV, then a V8 Panamera and has purchased the Model X and is bragging on what kind of super ecological nature person he is. I see this pattern a lot in this kind of industry.
What I do like about this car is that it is a huge slap towards existing carmakers who seem not to be too interested in making new tech actually available for people who are not making $250k+. Existing motor companies are just pushing their silly SUV's.
- But Elon Musk has designed batteries to help store energy from sustainable sources too. That's the game changer too.Ianbolton
- Just buy used and don't let a car be your identity.ben_
- It's more about getting away from oil. Plus there are alternative energies out there it's just that the US relies on so much coal for theirs._niko

As a tesla owner, I have it because it's fucking fast and it gets you a better class of woman.
- hey bro, if you need a car to get women, you already lost the gamegeorgesIII
- Depends on what kind of women you're seeking, Georges.iCanHazQBN

Everyone I know that wants one never mention the environment, they just like the idea of not having to get gas, a good looking car, etc.
I think it was very smart to make a nigher end car that has superb performance. I'd never drive a Prius or Volt, mostly because (the Prius at least), it's just a hideous piece of design. For me, the acceleration is still the mind blowing part. Go watch it trounce a Lamborghini Aventador (the Lambo eventually wins the 1/4 mile, but 90% of the Tesla is winning - that's insane!). That's really pretty amazing.
- monospaced2
- I would. Maserati is top engineering stuffed in the shell of a child's pedal toy at best... steve carell wants his trident back already.PonyBoy
- j/k... maserati's are dope :)PonyBoy
- this new KIA model released by Tesla is a step up thoughPonyBoy
- LOL... not KIA... i need to get some sleepPonyBoy
- Hahasea_sea
- the previous teslas were lacking on the "car looks" department. Tesla 3 actually looks like nice car.Miguex
- The first Teslas were based entirely on the Lotus Esprit. I hope you're not criticizing that look.monospaced

This is nice, but they're going to cost way more than $30K.
And quite frankly, $30K is too rich for my blood for a car.
- It starts at $35K and is loaded at that price. Plus there's a tax break. Also, $30K is the price of a nice Honda Accord. Not really that expensive.monospaced
- most people pickup used hondas for like 8k. Much greener.deathboy
- Those cars are fast. And fun. But I find them not practical at all. Just wait for the door handle motor to fail. Consumer reports mentioned it.deathboy
- Accords start at $23K, so that's not really possible. Also, they aren't electric, so not really a competition on "greener" either.monospaced
- greener in that no need to manufacturer a new vehicle. and electricity isn't green when u get it from coal. + that 7500 tax break is stupid cronyismdeathboy
- The 'good' thing about parts failures on Teslas is that they treat your car like software, so quite happily take them back to fix and upgrade themdetritus
- that tax break still bugs me. Its the cost of a new used car for a middle class person. where the liberals getting pissed off at that.deathboy
- tax break is an energy one, based on climate change, which conservatives deny is happening... basically, liberals are buying Teslasmonospaced
- no rich people buying teslas. and climate has and will always change. regardless if u buy a electric car powered by dirty electric or clean diesal.deathboy
- but come on mono you have to see the hypocrisy of tax incentives helping the rich u complain aboutdeathboy
- I think the tax break is limited to the first 200,000 customers or something?stoplying
- lol, this isn't a tax incentive for the rich, it's one for people who make efforts to move to alternative energymonospaced
- it's not hypocrisy and if you think $35K is for rich only, you cray craymonospaced
- There are tax incentives for anything green (solar, etc.). Do you not think we should be bettering the environment?formed
- If R's had their way we'd lower gas mileage and drill, drill, drillformed
- R's killed the first electric car for political reasons. There's an entire documentary on it.monospaced
- ETM0
It's still 1.5 to 2 years (Late 2017) away from STARTING production, let alone fulfilling orders.
- dbloc0
- I like the blank front end like thatmonospaced
- dat ROOF !!!randommail
- Dad's an Aston, Mum's a Porsche.monoboy
- I always hated that fake cheap plastic front grill on the Tesla. I'm glad they got rid of it.fooler
- 35k is reasonably priced.utopian
- dude... amazing.
cheaper than previous models and actually nice design too.Miguex
