I don't like the design and all the ignorance that goes with them. Buyers are putting themselves as some kind of automotive Jesus and lord savior XVI of us all. But buying a new car that is powered with electricity generated from fossil sources won't change your footprint.

I have that one contact on FB who had a german SUV, then a V8 Panamera and has purchased the Model X and is bragging on what kind of super ecological nature person he is. I see this pattern a lot in this kind of industry.

What I do like about this car is that it is a huge slap towards existing carmakers who seem not to be too interested in making new tech actually available for people who are not making $250k+. Existing motor companies are just pushing their silly SUV's.

    • But Elon Musk has designed batteries to help store energy from sustainable sources too. That's the game changer too.Ianbolton
    • Just buy used and don't let a car be your identity.ben_
    • It's more about getting away from oil. Plus there are alternative energies out there it's just that the US relies on so much coal for theirs._niko
