My theory:
Neither Steven Avery nor the Manitwoc PD killed Halbach. The brother, Scott Tadych, and possibly his son in law Bobby Dassey as an accomplice, murdered Halbach.
Immediately after the lawsuit and depositions the police were convinced it was Avery but saw the evidence against him was scant and needed a smoking gun to put him away for good this time. They fabricated evidence with the key, car DNA and maybe even relocation of the bones, if that wasn't Tadych's doing, to make the case open and shut.
- < yup .. me too
also possibly Halbach's.roommateRamanisky2 - Even Halbach's ex-boyfriend is a suspicious character in the doc.nb
- The lack of actual murder evidence I feel overrides the weak evidence and his personal history.monospaced
- There's some unusual, subtle exchanges in a news interview the ex and brother, but either/both of them framing Avery? That's hard for me to see.SteveJobs
- The ex/roommate/brother wouldn't have known Avery's property that well to mastermind the murder timing and not anticipate Avery or friends family being there.SteveJobs
- thought it was strange that the brother & roommate weren't even interviewed by detectives .. unless I heard it wrong.Ramanisky2
- To be clear I meant Steven Avery's brother in law Scott Tadych who is also the father in law of Brendan Dassey. Not Halbach's brother :)SteveJobs
- I know what to you meantRamanisky2
- anyone notice both her brother and the ex-bf knew how to get into her cell phone messages and how some messages were erased 8am - after her death?!!robotron3k
- Everyone noticed. Nobody caref because the prosecution's potential loss had a $35M price tag.monospaced

The New Yorker article is really good. If you have already seen the show, skip the first 11 or 12 paragraphs, because they just give you the background details which you already know.

Scroll down and start with the big drop cap B in "By chance, I have known many of the details..." It's long, but worth the read.
- everyone gets hung up on the dna under the hood, like it's a smoking gun or something, the defence pointed out during the trial that it was impossible to_niko
- determine where the dna came from, they could have easily taken dna from his razor and planted it there, the prosecutors quickly dropped this line of questionin_niko
- the fact that there's not a drop of Teresa's blood anywhere near where she was supposedly killed will never stop bothering memonospaced
- hey mono, he's a criminal mastermind and was able to meticulously destroy every piece of DNA evidence from his entire property. Oh except he forgot an entire_niko
- ...car, and that key which happened to forget in his room._niko
- And managed to meticulously cover it with dirt and cobwebs so that it looked like nobody had touched it in 20 years.monospaced
- The point of the article is, "Ultimately, 'Making a Murderer' shares that flaw; it does not challenge our yearning for certainty or do the difficult work ofnb
- helping to foster humility. Instead, it swaps one absolute for another—and, in doing so, comes to resemble the system it seeks to correct.nb

Ever heard of this guy Edward Edwards?
Did Edward Wayne Edwards Kill Taresa Halbach and set up Steve Avery? Edwards, a misguided boy, vowed to be the best criminal ever. He killed scores and scores of people of all ages over a sixty-six-year period, and was never caught (for murder). Included are some of the most famous murder cases in the past century.- https://www.yahoo.co…_niko

hmmmm... watched it. Watched some post doc. interviews.
Im kinda bias, don't trust cops at all.
So with that being said, I think the tactics the cops used were dirty, I absolutely think they took his blood out of evidence, I absolutely think they planted the key, I think they did everything in their power to fuck this guy over.
Did he do it? No. At least not how its being portrayed. I'm sorry but if your family trade is a junkyard and you need to get rid of evidence you would use the crusher ASAP, not hide it with some branches. cmon. Seriously this guy would need to be a fucking certified retard to do that, at that particular time and in that clumsy fashion. The dude is shocked the entire time, like WTF did I do to you god?!?!?!
These are some ignorant fuckin people. There seems to be plenty enemies lurking and would do some crazy shit on his property. Why not, anything goes down in that yard and its all his fault.
I don't think that lady was killed there or in her car. She was dragged out and taken somewhere else, bones placed in that pit later.
Who knows... this doesn't have shit on The Jinx though!!! *burp*burp*burp*
- Notice how dumb (apologies for any offense, but really) that family is bro? You think they've managed to birth anyone above an average IQ?zenmasterfoo
- I agree, but he seems at the very least smarter than that. right???
That kid is another story...sofakingback - How do you know he didn't want to get caught? hence why he left it there. He may be some kind of weird pscycopathic narcisist who wanted to be in the spotlightfadein11
- he certainly never seemed bothered by the attention, pretty emotionless throughout.fadein11
- Thats true, definitely a possibility. Slim, but possible.sofakingback

Finally finished it last night.
Gave it 2/5 stars.
I wouldn't watch it again, or recommend it, I simply saw it.
No gratification, had too many questions after watching it.
A bunch of idiots using words over and over trying to be smug. The guy who played Len Kachinsky was the most annoying.

^ yup, was a complete bore, maybe it was going to get better but i heard everything i needed to hear in the first four episodes, fucking mungaloid retard waves his dick around in front of and points a loaded weapon at the sheriff's wife, enough said, he is lucky to still be alive after pulling that kind of stunt no matter what kind a bitch she may have been to him. murder or not, he wouldn't make it past a parole board for just those charges mentioned
- the first 4 episodes were entertaining, which is why everyone kept watching. the next 4 were drawn out misery, and then the finale was just a huge letdownmonospaced
- basically, I agree that at least some of it was a bore, but not all of itmonospaced

- But yeah, Brendan's situation was the saddest part of that TV show, for sure.nb
