Adobe teases new AI photo editing tool that will ‘revolutionize’ its products.
- the eye-ai shit she's using makes her look like an alienArchitectofFate
- Her eyes must be the size of softballsjmckinno
- I'm grateful that Im not starting my career in this era of design.slappy

Testing AE 2023 beta. Holy shit, it took them over 20 years to finally introduce a true 3D viewport. Thank fucking god for this.
The old 3D viewport was the worst ever.

The "you're opening a file from the desktop or closing one? Let me bring your other minimized file windows to the front too" behaviour makes me want to put my fist through the screen sometimes.

Adobe Media Encoder app: 5.35GB
Handbrake app: 132MB
lol
- <oey_oey
- not to mention the speed. 40 hours to transcode a 16h video to mp4 proxy in FCP. 45 mins with ffmpeg + python whyyy???kingsteven
- I will put up with Media Encoder as long as it's the only way to render from AE and still be able to work in AE. Handbrake can't do that for me.CyBrainX
- But I am aware it's the worst thing Adobe makes, by far.CyBrainX

The story repeats itself every year.
Just cancelled my subscription, because starting next month I would have to pay double as much, so I could receive an offer to keep it the way it was until now.
That's it. See you next year.

The newest version of InDesign erases your workspace preferences, it seems.
- it randomly does this anyways, maybe it's a featuredoesnotexist
- I've experienced this for years off-and-on when updating ID annually, also with AI. If you look it up support usually just says you have to start over.evilpeacock
- Latest release fixes this debacle... you can go back in and choose to add you preferences from previous version. Still a PITA if you manually did it like I didsab

Just copied dozens of pages from one file to another to discover it breaks all of the hyperlinks. They now point to the original file, not the URL specified.

- yeah this one sucks... not so much for me but for clients if you want to walk them through a composite pdf with spot plates and varnishes.jonny_quest_lives
- requires extra setup on my end versus just selecting pantones from the library.jonny_quest_lives
- not to toot my own horn but my LAB values look closer to the Pantone outputs than the Pantone library colors did anyway.jonny_quest_lives
- Hasn't this been the case for 4-5 years already?CyBrainX

I mainly use Photopea plugin in Figma when I need to retouch or adjust an image. Works like a charm.
- +1 I use Photopea in the browser, don't need anything else.skinny_puppy
- Granted last PS I used was CS2, so take with a grain of salt. But Photopea does 98% of what I used to do with PS CS2 and has the same keyboard shortcuts!skinny_puppy

Just did the annual Adobe dance to keep my subscription at the much reduced monthly rate again for next 12 months. Why not just offer that same reduced rate to start with! Gah! Still pissed off there are no scroll bars on the new version of Adobe Acrobat... have reverted back to previous version for the moment until they fix their shit. At least they fixed their update in the latest Indesign to correcting import previous version preferences and not just throw an error!

Like the previous post, I renewed my subscription with the Black Friday/Cyber Monday discount (50% off). Initially they said "not for renewals", but I asked if they could check as a colleague got the discount on renewal and they said "yes, we can make an exception". They also gave me 2 months free when I inquired if it was possible. All in all it took about 5 mins in the chat.
- My renewal was up before this offer; I simply cancelled a week prior, then when my sub ran out they offered half-price discount. Less hassle IMO.evilpeacock

I deliberately launch Bridge maybe once a year, but accidentally once a week.
- I don't remember installing it or even using itnbq
- handy to browse disks. batch editing names and previewing AE presets.uan
- Only when reviewing photoshoots due to os x insisting on side scrolling decent sized thumbnails in the finder - occasional colour profile syncs toosausages
- Yes same!sab
- i actually quite like bridge. as a file browser.pango
- Bridge is great, but stay on the oldest version possible - newer ones run like ass. ass filled with dead asses and concrete.face_melter

I actively use Bridge. It's the Adobe App that I use most.
- For what?i_monk
- Great softwarenb
- It’s literally a bridge to my creative soulnb
- I always liked Bridge a lot. When I switched to Windows a few years ago I loved it even more because previewing on Windows is quite lame in comparison.CyBrainX
- I use it too for reviewing huge archives of creative assets. It is a CPU hog if you leave it open in the background 'tho.evilpeacock
- Why don't people get Bridge? Bridge is excellent. I don't understand using PS, AI and ID without Bridge.jagara
- It's a viewer/organizer of big projects, and libraries of creative assets. And it has rudimentary PS features like rotating, cropping.jagara
- And the tagging feature is great.jagara
- for those on Windows and miss the 'space to preview' delight on Macs, get 'QuickLook' - a great replacement. works with pretty much any file inc. audio/video.face_melter
- The previews have an awesome pin feature, so you can have an image above everything else and use it as a reference. great for 3D work.face_melter
- We know ;)jagara
