oh right, came to this thread because I was wondering what the font is in the title logo.
Kind of obsessed with the look of that logo/typography right now. Simple, not entirely genius, but has a great modern feel.

It's long, and it's Alex Jones, but he snuck in a camera to the Bohemian Grove retreat, which was the inspiration for the Elysian scenes in season 5.

I'm on episode 5. No spoilers here.
The main reason to watch it is the pretty Season 3 looks the best so far, beautiful shots. Far too many camera movements, though. There are some hilarious moments when basic cutaways have camera movements for like a second. It's like David Fincher told them exactly how to film his style, but they stopped listening when he said "don't move the camera unless it helps tell the story."
The story itself is ridiculous, but if you pretend it's just fantasy politics, then it's fine. The last half of Season 2 was also ridiculous, so yeah.

Watched all thirteen since they were released last week. Truly great stuff! Good writing, great acting. When does season 2 get released?

ugh. This Agar.io scene?!? Brutal. I can only assume the writers of the show are like, "Ok, the producers are forcing us to write this advertisement into the script, so we're going to make sure it's the worst writing and that everyone can see it.

House of Cards really gives the viewer the real ugly truth of what politics is really all about. In a nutshell, a politician uses everyone around them in order to get ahead (even their spouses). They will lie, steal, threaten, and even kill in order to get elected and/or maintain power. No matter how you look at it, the government is a void in the free market which is constantly and competitively being filled by dishonest and deceiving individuals with a thirst for power.
However, we should be able to all take a clear point from Season 3, that all politicians should be limited to a single-term. Allowing multiple terms completely clouds the focus of our elected leaders to the point they don't even do their job while they are in office.. or to the point they try to manipulate voters with ill-forged legislation just to get votes. Point is that the whole system skews at the point elected leaders try to get 're-elected'

Just finished the first season. I think it might be the best thing Kevin Spacey has ever done. Hard to think of a better actor for they character.

also just finished first season, watched a whole bunch at first then too a break for last 4 or 5 because they were all pretty intense on their own.....
Not giving it rave reviews but definitely enjoyed it. Someone asked me if I watched it thru just to say I did complete it or if it was good. I enjoyed it/very dramatic and if anything, just for the movie production value alone......writing was weak at points tho. Endless West Wing comparisons.
But amazing piece of work by Netflix.I wonder tho, has it driven a boost in subscribers for them. As would be the plan ... 'to become HBO faster than HBO can become them'...

“House of Cards.” (by Netflix) is already the most streamed piece of content in the United States and 40 other countries...The spooky part about that? Executives at the company knew it would be a hit before anyone shouted “action.”
Netflix, which has 27 million subscribers in the nation and 33 million worldwide, ran the numbers. It already knew that a healthy share had streamed the work of Mr. Fincher, the director of “The Social Network,” from beginning to end. And films featuring Mr. Spacey had always done well, as had the British version of “House of Cards.” With those three circles of interest, Netflix was able to find a Venn diagram intersection that suggested that buying the series would be a very good bet on original programming.

"While careers and entire networks have been made and lost based on the mysterious alchemy of finding a hit, Netflix seems to be making it look easy, or at least making it a product of logic and algorithms as opposed to tradition and instinct."
