How does this sort of law/ban get passed?
Did NYCers vote?
- randommail0
btw, this stupid ban will only affect the poorer people and storeowners (minorities?) in Bronx, Brooklyn, etc.
When's the last time you saw an Upper East Sider walking down Museum Mile with a Super Big Gulp soda? Or a fattie in Soho that's not a tourist?

this makes no sense, the plan's got more holes than a cavity x-ray

Americans, so stupid that they argue about wanting agribusiness to kill them with processed sugar.
Like a two year old having a hissy fit.."But I wanna big soda! I wanna big soda! I don't care if I get fat and my fat ass causes all kinds of health issues for society! Give me! Give me! Give me!"
consume. consume. nom. nom. nom.
Die fatty.
- i don't think the argument here is "can i have more calories", it's about "should they be allowed to ban shit like this"scarabin
- BaskerviIle0
- 8oz burger was goodtasty
- mcdonalds only opened in 1955, not sure who was making tiny burgers before thenscarabin
- it says 1950's not 1950.CanHasQBN
- White Castle been making the wee little burgers since the 1920s!boobs
- 7oz drink was the norm in 1950's? a teacup? really? and now it's over a litre? get real.monNom
- I can't think of one place where a 12oz hamburger is the norm either. that's a 3/4 pounder. not possible. your graphic lies!monNom
- Diners and Malt Shoppes were making burgers long before Ray Kroc.i_monk

also, there's a million more fast food joints now vs. back then, more access now...

but I thought we were 'pro choice' when it comes to our bodies...
... no.. wait... that's for women... ... it's cool to kill off that pesty child in your belly... ... but you can't put more than 16oz's of sugar...in your belly... dot dot dot dot dot
- trolli_monk
- the logic hurts, huh?PonyBoy
- PB has a pointalbums
- No he doesn't. While I don't entirely agree with banning like this, comparing sugar to an unwanted fetal parasite is a stretch.i_monk
- stretch.i_monk
- Not comparing the two... I'm comparing the supposed 'right' one has to 'choose' what happens with their body...PonyBoy
- problem is, most people do not know just how much sugar there is in soda... and it costs the country billions in healthcare.CanHasQBN
- healthcare costs.CanHasQBN

On the rare occasion I do drink soda, I enjoy the fuck out of it. It's like a desert. A delicious treat. There's nothing better than a fresh Coke poured into a glass full of ice.
- ok. it's true.ohhhhhsnap
- it's drinking a candy bar.... and thats fine if you realize it's desert, not a "meal in itself"
vaxorcist - inteliboy works for Coke.CanHasQBN

Stay thirsty my friends

so sugar is the devil here because it eventually causes obesity for the irresponsible... but aspartame gets the green light because they're never gonna figure out it's responsible for the occasional brain tumor or anything...
- aspartame gives me a headache from hell.... it's a neurotransmitter just like MSGvaxorcist
- i can't have msg or i see sparks, blurry vision, migraine from the darkest depths of hell, it's badprophetone
