This is a HUGE ripoff.
IWC was probably one of the best sites of 2011 and Odopod received plenty of deserved praise for it. For another agency to shamelessly rip it off for another high-end watch company is ridiculous. Have some self respect as a creative professional!
With assets as nice as HYT has, there was no need to rip off another high-end watch company's site.

- both sells watches
- method of displaying product in cascading manner
- product layout and details layout
- position of navigation which triggers progression of user
- targets similar or same audienceInterface is something you can patent. While most dont, interface as a design method is something that unique to a brand.
Grid-A-Licious vs Pinterest
Both born in 2008.

Wow, pretty bad. Obviously a lot of copying going on there.

then you must have issues with almost every single site on Scrolling HTML webistes on QBN too? I mean they are all rips because they are scrolling and having similar layouts and functionality right?
- lvl_130
yup. lame.
people should dive deeper into the site. it get's pretty blatant.
- lambsy0
you should find other things in life to be butthurt about.
- akrok0
they are very similar though.
- instrmntl0
you probably shouldn't use the exact same nav system as your competitor.

3 columns ≠ rip

There's no rip off at all aside from the fact that there are watches on both sites.

I don't see the rip, and I like more the "rip" one...

@non, quick one, how did you find out about this? Somebody told you or you find out yourself?
- Saw it on a daliy css design feed. IWC being such a modern iconic site, it reminded me of it.non
- Instantly.non
- they are similar indeed, but hard to say it's a rip off when everything looks the same (like parallax websites, are all of them rip off? ;)chrisRG
- them rip off?chrisRG
- Parallax is just a functionlaity.non
- Its a way of making a concept work.non
- HYT's site rips off lots of visual and functional components from IWC's site.non
- ohh you know what i mean...chrisRG
- Yes I do, but I don't agree. Parallax is like Gotham, its just a tool. Some people overuse it and thats a shame.non
- But I see no problem in using a functionality feature if the concept calls for it.non
- Wich is VERY different from the case we have here.non
- well, I just had a deep look and I guess I have to agree with you, I take back what I said, it's a rip off indeed.chrisRG
- Hehehe, glad you see "the light" lol.non
- lol... well, what "got me" was the Collection menu.chrisRG

I wanted to raise this issue because I feel compelled by it as a professional designer and watch enthusiast.
IMO, HYT made a really bad business move by either "wanting" something like IWC's website or simply not doing any research about their competitors.
To many, their website will look good, but to the people who actually pays ALOT to buy these types of watches, they will look like another cheap "premium brand" knock off.

^
Even the grid "wants" to be the same.
I'm not talking about similarities. I'm taking about copying a COMBINATION of concept, layout, type, content placement, artistic direction, etc.
Not talking about the color scheme or the acronym, as d_rek would suggest.
- chrisRG0
Both are well done and similar, but they also look like thousand of "wordpress/newhtml/scrolldown/wh... that dominate the web lately.
You can easily find similars on those HTML5/CSS Awards websites
- cashface0
They have similarities, but a stretch to call a rip off.
- d_rek0
Wow. They even went so far as to create a 3-letter acronym for their brand name too! The level of thievery is outrageous!!
