2 scoops Muscle Milk protein powder (www.cytosport.com)
How different are these than those GNC protein powder?
I'm in a mission to gain 10-20 lbs of muscle, im quite slim and i'm using protein powder to boost my muscle gain [just temporarily] and expand my appetite.
- yet again, i want to gain weight properly and healthyk_temp

this is really close to what i drink in the morning. except i don't add the 1/2 cup juice. it's all water and i add 1/2 cup oatmeal for a nice carb. also, i've never been too fond of the muscle milk protein, it's kind of high in fat. i opt for optimum nutrition's whey isolate blend instead. chocolate. holy hell it's good.
- There's a different protein I use, I'll have to find the brand/type. It's a mix of whey and another kind I think.mg33

Anyone regularly make shakes/smoothies for breakfast? I found a recipe this week that the surfer Laird Hamilton drinks daily. It looked interesting, all the ingredient info seemed really positive. Bought stuff last night minus one ingredient and made one this morning.
Holy hell... I feel like I'm a million % more energized than any other morning, and I've not had any coffee today either. The one ingredient I left out was something for brain/memory performance because my health food store didn't carry it. If you into drinking things like this and don't mind spending a little $ for ingredients, I highly suggest this:

1 tablespoon Catie's Organic Greens (www.energyessentials.com)
1 tablespoon Catie's Vitamin C Plus (www.energyessentials.com)
1 scoop Neuro 1 (www.nutrition53.com)
2 scoops Muscle Milk protein powder (www.cytosport.com)
1 tablespoon Udo's Oil 3-6-9 Blend (www.udoerasmus.com)
1-2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen berries (any kind; I like blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
½ cup organic apple or cherry juice or hemp milk
½ cup filtered water
Put all of the ingredients in a blender and mix at ice-crushing speed for 30 seconds. For a lighter version, eliminate the juice (or hemp milk) and substitute an additional ½ cup water, reduce the protein powder to 1 scoop, and use just 1 teaspoon oil and half of a frozen banana.
