Last time I was having an discussion with another QBee about contemporary art being a pile of DIY crap piled together, I showed to her this and it brought some hope to her.

Anyway, some treehugger activist started claiming that it was a waste of energy and will endanger the wildlife are protesting against it.

just read an artists statement on a show going up next door. i spent more time trying to decipher it than i did looking at the artwork. the artist misused the word "existential" 4 times in as many sentences.

speaking of pretentious art...there is a gif with a performer guy, who has something attached to his dick...can't remember what it was anyway...he has a serious face as long as i can remember...

grown up "illustrators" that do childlike (no talent) style illustrations
that's a pet hate of mine.maybe it's because i'm just jealous that they can sell that shit and make a living from it.
- it takes talent to draw like a talented child.albums
- while you think they are childish illustrations, they do possess a certain scale and tone not found in children's drawingsalbums
- drawings. ie I think of http://www.themonste…albums

The history of contemporary art resumes itself into "smart-ass" comunication and interaction, as long as it's stated and presented inside the art market means, mains and medias, into a curious crowd with funny glasses, eager to eat some snacks and drink read wine for free. last but not the least, collectors and speculators dictate the gallery owners their deep idiosyncratic desires.
Artists are ruled by these parameters, and are told during their school/grad (by frustrated teachers-wanna-be-artists that the market will ignore them unless they don't produce edgy works of art fulfilled with an eccentric content, with well structured speech that can convince a $600 hat collector.
Once you get their phone number and visit their unfuckingbelievable 6 bedroom villa, consider yourself a contemporary artist.illustration and design are different markets, so it's a different story.

buckets (or cans) full of shit *literally or not, started to spread in the world of art once critics opened the gates to any thinker behaving like a legit artist, by defining that a personal experience transformed into a public experience could be art, as long as it gets published in the "art column" of the newspaper....
not saying that anyone could be, you just have to find the way and the "connections" for that...
myself included.
