Where is the iPhone 5?
Unfortunately, for everything the iPhone 4S is, there are several things it is not. The general consensus seems to be that Apple may have dropped the ball by not bringing an iPhone 5 to market this year. As the 4S was making its debut, most technology buffs voiced their displeasure with a new smartphone that looks no different than the one we've all had for a year.

I'd like to see more refinement as to how there icons are designed. This below makes no sense and is visually redundant...
iTunes App:
Music App:
They need to scrap the iTunes name AND the App Store and use a singular "Store" app where you can buy all music, videos, shows, and apps. It makes no sense to access something called "iTunes" (branded with a music note icon) to buy a movie or TV show.
The "Store" app would be the singular place where money is exchanged between the user and Apple.

Do people really expect Apple to release a new re-designed phone every year? Seems so.
- IMO, this is the secret to their success. Or at least part of it.randommail

Apple had the same laptop design for many years and kept changing just the internals, I don't see a problem with them doing the same with the iPhone for a while.
I own an iPhone 4 so I knew I wasn't getting this new one, but I see no problem of buying an iPhone 5 that looks like the 4 but brings faster processing, better graphics, better camera, that new personal assistant etc. etc.
- But their laptops always had at least the largest screens. They're giving Android a huge advantage.CyBrainX

I thought iOS 6 would bring multiple user profiles, that would be a godsend, the more they delay that it just seems they want people to buy one iPad per each family member, the software implementation would be easy I mean the thing already runs on Unix.
- Maybe on the iPad, but makes little-to-no sense for the iPhone.monospaced

let's sumarize:
1. iOS sucks balls, maps take you into a river and is basically maybe a great mapping solution for Mars.
2. Wifi issues
3. Camera purple hues
4. New adapters (happy shopping)
5. Scratches when you blow on it
6. Both OS and the phone are basically the same as previous versionsGO BUY IT! And then tell yourself it's all gonna get fixed.
- Does it really matter? All the Apple robots bought it anyway. We can bitch here all day, wont change anything.CygnusZero4

Well now that that's done, we can close this thread.

Personally, I was expecting something special, otherwise I would have just bought a 4 over a year ago.
The difference is that there is so much hype going on for so long that they needed something special. I am sure it is a great phone, and I love my first gen iPhone (I get my money's worth!), but my patience has not paid off (again).
When's those Nokia Windows phones coming out?? Prettier graphics will do just fine now.

@miguex
Look at how many models of phone Nokia release in a year, then you can complain.

You don't need to buy a new one every '4 months', of course.
