I waited a year for a 4S, a slightly better camera and better processor...huh. Experienced the same disappointment waiting for the iPad2 (since these are my only Apple products).
Oh well, time to go looking at the competition.

@formed: I hear ya. I've waited a year as well. Hoping for the 5.
I don't care what it says on the phone. What gets me is that the 5 will most likely be a major design change, which is what I was waiting for. Sure the new hardware on the 4S is neat, but I guarantee you the leap from 4S to 5, will be similar to the 3GS to 4. Which is what I've been waiting for.

Not any different from when they upgraded from the 3G to the 3GS. I predict the next model will be something like the 4G (for when they hop onto the 4G network) and it will come out in the next few months followed by the 5 which will be about a year from now. Makes sense and follows their strategy up to now.

If the jump for 4 to 4S is anything like 3 to 3S, then it will likely be a good upgrade.
But of course, because they didn't update the case and called it 4S instead of 5, then the sky is falling. Never mind all the updates to the components and OS.

By the way. There was no iPhone 2 was there? Didn't they just jump to the 3G after the first model? Well. My point is that the name is really irrelevant and not something to be disappointed by. This is the new phone and it is the 5th iteration and it is an upgrade.
