one thing my friend who has a little boy and had him circumcised said to me kinda made sense. her husband is circumcised btw.
she said the only reason she did it was because she wanted her boy to be able to look at his dad and see the same thing.
not sure if anyone has mentioned this but there is a higher risk of acquiring papiloma virus and infecting your partner in the future.
that said. i cringe at the idea of mutilating my baby. and highly doubt no guy in their right mind will decide to do so on their own. so good luck with that georges. don't let tradition get in the way of what you want for your child.

There's a cute doco about it
There's one couple there who have no religious reason for doing it. The mom thinks it looks nicer, dad has it, why not. The reasoning is about as solid as "if my kid sees my willie." Your kid won't know why there is a difference, there's already a size and age difference, he'll think it's that and not worry.
If circumcision is done poorly then you'll really have problems. People do it because it's popular for some reason, either Jesus or porn. I remember sex ed in 7th grade covered differences between cut and not and girls said ew at uncut. Funny shit.
Even for medical procedures it's overkill but good luck finding a doctor who will give a shit, they're all cut themselves.

I think that lots of men here have foreskin envy, and would choose to not circumcise a son because of the subconscious thinking that they want their son to have what they don't have... Which is fucking gross because what are you gonna do sit and stare at the kids dick all day? you'll get the cops called on you for sure.

I throw the circumcision debate in the same bucket as gay marriage and abortion. It should be a choice and those who choose to do it should not be pilloried.
When my born, I told the doctors that I wanted my son circumcised but was very quickly told I was being barbaric. No doctor where my son was born would do it. My wife also said it was a bad idea.
He is now 7 years old and unfortunately for him, has had had a number of infections. Our GP has advised these probably would not have happened had he been circumcised.
I'm not saying it right for everyone, but it turns out we now have to go through the process of having a 7 year old boy circumcised which will cause him much more trauma than had it been done at birth.

I'm dying to know how all of these uncut penises get infected. Come on folks, do you not not wash your own or your sons' cocks? I mean seriously. This isn't the Dark Ages; grab that bar of soap, and get washing.

Let's just say I have a "friend" who was circumcised. At some point in his late 20's he got what are called penile adhesions - basically when some of the cut skin from the foreskin grows back. It's painful because it isn't so elastic - makes sex kinda painful. So you basically have to go under the knife again to cut that off. Trust me, you don't want to be giving your kid the option of cutting it off at 18. It a horribly painful procedure for about two weeks. The mere inkling or an erectile thought is pain inducing. And morning wood is an evil, vile happening for that time when you have a giant healing wound on your penis. This is a problem infants do not have (i.e erections). So don't not get your kid circumcised only to offer it to him later as an option as then he will know ungodly pain. And if you get him circumcised make sure whoever is doing it is doing a quality job. At least, that's what my friend said.

Again, I am sure 95% of people not from the US have their eyes peeled out in stupor when reading here about 'choice', be it parent's or kid's.
The whole concept of doing it is just as absurd as cutting off the kid's nose to avoid sneezing in their future. OK, it is performed but only in rare occasions of medical necessity. If it's done, it's done, no biggie. But those earlobe-stretching tubular earrings or those tribal plates placed under cut-out lower lips make just as much sense to non-Americans.
