I had my son circumcised; wife had an emergency c-section early so hadnt ever even crossed my mind. I was super panicked, didn't want to cause this perfect boy pain. The doctors said infection was higher uncut, so I reluctantly conceded.
NO ANESTHESIA WAS USED: apparently they can't even give newborns anesthesia as their bodies are too small or something. They gave him sugar-water which would help ease any pain, the doc explained why at the time but I forget now.
HE CRIED when it was cut, and I did too. I was right there with him. He cried for about 20 seconds was all.
That was it, NBD.

Oh wait best part:
They put this little plastic cap thing on it to help it heal, they said it would fall off naturally.
A week later I was changing him, the little plastic thing was 98% off, just dangling on the edge of his penis; I pulled gently and could see it was almost off. Instinctively I pulled it to free it - TONS of blood started coming out from what was apparently an unhealed scab on a sensitive area.
Having only been a dad for a few days I was SURE I pulled my sons dick off or mutilated it beyond repair and was sobbing and freaking out, holy shit I felt so bad.A day later it was all healed up and fine, but man being a dad is rough you feel like a dickhead every second because you love this little dude so much so your mistakes are magnified x100

ALSO - would I do it again? Probably. My son is 3 now. For those of you without kids: KIDS ARE DIRTY.
you can scrub them every day(most ppl dont bathe their kids every day) but remember they shit in their pants.
They also find rocks and put those int their pants.
They find old food and stick it in pants.I can totally see how snipping it would be hygenic.
On the other hand I have foreskin envy, sometimes miss it like an amputee thinks about his leg

I had a circumcision a few years ago, out of medical necessity. The two weeks after the surgery were the worst of my life. Couldn't even walk properly the whole first week.
Now I couldn't be happier with it. Had to learn a few new tricks in the bed-departement, but it all worked out for the better. This being said, I would NEVER have my kid cirumcised. Not if there wasn't a very pertinent medical reason.

My cousin had been seeing a guy for about 6 months and told him she wouldn't sleep with him unless he was circumcised...yes, shockingly shallow I know. Silly thing was, he agreed and ended up having the op.
She ended up dumping him about a month later the silly, silly girl.

i got a 3 year old and a six month old, both boys, both uncut. the 3 year old is as dirty as they come, but has never had an infection. the infection argument is stupid, teach your kids proper hygiene, end of story.
if you want to get them cut because it's your covenant with god, go ahead. but why not let them be uncut and have them make their own covenant with god when they're adults, maybe think twice about what kind of fucked up religion they have to give up their foreskins for to join.
