For pro-editor its suck because:
No multicam
No Suport Multimonitors and custom layouts
No support for layback to video tape using RS-422 (!!!)
No Classic projects, openable over the network on another computer
No EDL, XML, OMF support (!!!)
No External monitoring devices support
No Soundtrack Pro DVD Studio Pro or Color
No native RED supportA bloated imovie...

I dont know how anyone can use FCP, the interface hideous.
Not to mention it never fucking captures footage off various video cameras, but adobe premiere does it every time.

I work at Apple as Steve's personal handjob assistant, I read the internal memo and the roadmap for FCPX
Version 1 you won't have all those features wwiz mentioned, but In Version 2 you will, however you won't be able to export any video, In Version 3 you will finally have both, but you won't be able to open any Version 1 or 2 projects.
Adobe Premier is better, TODAY, and not potentially better TOMORROW.
Hey, but keep putting everything off for tomorrow till the software does what you need it to, Today.

Fucking Apple. They pretty much just shot themselves in the foot...
Whilst the idea of Avid or Premier sound reasonable... I haven't used Avid for years, nor seen Premier in a suite since I can remember... But that could change pretty fast, especially with this crippled FCP release steering towards "prosumers"...

Hate it.

Apple digging their own grave for the post market?
No EDL, XML, OMF.
How would this ever work in a professional post workflow?

What about FINAL CUT SERVER!!! When I go to the Final Cut Server page www.apple.com/finalcutserver/ it redirects to Final Cut Pro X. What is going on???
- Julesvm0
been playing around with it - so far not worth it at all... time to bail. It's about 15 steps backwards 1 step forward. Not usable for day-to-day actual client work.

grave has been dug for sure. FCP needed an update, and this aint it.
Whilst boz complains about inane Apple shit like notifications & flash plugins on fucking phones - I couldn't care less. Though crippling their "pro" line of software, that I often use to pay the bills, rightly pisses me off.

The more I have read about this the more amazed I am. What is going on...? Why would Apple abandon their base? Ending support for a product that is entrenched in so many shops will put people out of business. I can't remember a software upgrade that has been so damaging and disrespectful to it's users.

I think they did a poor job at communicating properly what the rewrite of FCP meant for the current customers, what they released doesn't really work in a professional workflow but it does cater towards people that were using iMovie and wanted a bit more.
It seems they will be adding the missing stuff throughout the next months, but the bad word is already out there.
