With only a 6 episode season you would expect a lot more. It still feels like they are trying to stretch things out unnecessarily. I am afraid what a full season would be like, even an AMC season of only a dozen or so episodes.
- in comic they are usually in one place for a long time. they actually spent some of winter up there in books...ArmandoEstrada
- I agree it's very stretched out in the books. But you can't really do that in TV or on film, unfortunately.Jaline

Yeah, frankly I am getting sick of this whole mini season concept that is going around. You just get too taken out of a show and by the time it returns, sometimes you just don't care anymore.

I wanna know why the the whole fucking world went down while that twat officer with the batman voice was in the hospital.
But from what I heard, you don't get that answered in the comics either.

I need to get cranking on the comic book. Bought the 1,008 page compendium 1 book, but only read the first chapter so far.
- The book is fantastic. Reading it really makes you hate what they did with the show. :/sigg
- isnt the original writer of the book writing for the show too.. not to say its not better... plan on reading after show... books always betterdeathboy
- always better in my opinion. i find i cant enjoy the movie if ive read the book first, but ic an enjoy the movie then enjoy the book more afterwardsdeathboy
- books more afterwardsdeathboy

I found the books to be somewhat repetitive too. There's only so much you can do with zombies. But it took much longer for them to become that repetitive, whereas the show is like that after a few episodes. Unfortunate, but I did enjoy some of the scenes from that last episode. Some TV shows take a while to really get going, and because I found the comic to be one of the most entertaining in the past however-many-years, I'll continue to watch.
I've always preferred sticking to the original script. The only time I don't mind straying from the comics is if the story is captivating and is better suited for a TV audience compared to a print audience. Kind of like "Dexter". Obviously that hasn't been the case yet.
And the short seasons aren't *that* bad. There are many British TV series that are very short and it makes for more stuff happening in one episode. Again, that hasn't been the case yet with "The Walking Dead". It hasn't been stuffed with good content. I found myself getting bored at times, and I'm usually a fan of character development. But I'll stick with it. A happy medium is the 13-episode shows like "Weeds" have. Not the 24 episodes most network series have.

I read that the writer felt bad for killing off the sister person. Said it was a bit emotional because the actors grown close, but he was happy he at least informed her before hand that she would be killed shortly. But bring sup a new world for comic writers who can write off and kill people in comics with out any real consequences. Where as in the media of tv you're basically firing people. And your not firing people soley on story as much as continued ratings of a larger (usually dumber by the numbers) demographic. The overhead and cost requires a larger audience and you must supply it after all. The politics vs final product is always interesting.
I think for your general tv and production its pretty tops right now and hopefully less negative press so larger budgets for future production. Also with original storyline vs the way it is (again havent read it but seems to be slower and more in one location) thinking its likely because of budget and audience testing. I bet they'll go more original storyline and fire actors who weren't part of it to please in season 2

Shows like Madmen, Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire all kind of raised the bar for these cable network TV series. It's unrealistic to expect every series to be anything close to that good.
Walking Dead is entertaining because of the subject matter, but the writing and acting is not anything close to the caliber of those shows. Dexter also started out as a pretty good show but it is going downhill fast, this latest season is by far the worst so far.
- i totally agreesofakingbanned
- Agree with most of this. Except I still like Dexter.Jaline

I started to write a rant, then realized how geeky it was. This show is missing some shit, and I'm upset that the ball was dropped.
Fire the tv-adaption writer. This shit is boring me.
- I blame the actors more than the writing. But yeah, it's boring when you don't care about these people.DRIFTMONKEY

i didn't read the books yet.. but i do have them in a few boxes in storage since my move.. never opened it.. i assume that CDC was replaced from a Prison as the comments above suggest..
is it that much of a stretch from the original story? from the preview to next weeks finale it seems to be better environment than a prison.. something very technological and relates to things of today from Resident Evil movies/ games to Iron Man tech.. seems more believable..
what do those that read the books say to that?
- i_monk0
Everyone I know who read the books and watches the show is looking forward to the prison. Because the prison leads to the Governor.
We better get our prison.

I was thinking more of the similarities with "Prison Break"
1) The same girl (annoying)
2) Chopped hand
