The show is decent, it's a little repetitive. Only other show im watching right now is boardwalk empire, and this show doesnt compare to that on any level.
I think had I not been watching boardwalk id probably like this show more. It's good, but not great.

Boardwalk empire was slow, but the character developement was definately better.Thats like comparing Lost to Sopranoes, both are diff genres so the acting is going to be diff.

i thought the first episode was fantastic and that the second one almost as good. they both had me looking forward to the following episode.
the last two however seem like a completely different TV show. boring, contrived, and patched together. the premise and the incredible opening premiere left a lot to be desired. hopefully they find a way to make it a bit more interesting without being so cheesy...

i liked this episode... not sure about the vatos thing... but ok.
The rest was good.

I got caught up last night. Since, when do zombies eat deer and horses? Zombies do not eat other animals, that is basic zombie knowledge. If we could teach zombies to eat cow they would have no need for us and be able live amongst us. Huge flaw.
- Guess with a lack of fresh human supply they'd adapt to a emergency diet. Can't help wonder why cannibalism isn't on the list. It's not like they have morals to consider.Peter
- ... the list. It's not like they have morals to consider.Peter
- they smell fresh blood, and they have always ate animals , RE had zombie dogs, birds etcBattleAxe

Well in the original 60's version of Night of the Living dead there are scenes of zombies eating insects and small creatures... so why wouldn't they eat animals? They're dead. They're hungry. They eat.
Its only later films like the Dawn of the Dead remake that suggest they wouldn't eat a dog. Indeed, in the original Day of the Dead the lead scientist is trying to get the captured zombie to eat other types of food.

@ ian Really? What scene? I have never seen any animal eaten in a George A. Romero film. Hell in the remake of Dawn of the Dead they sent Chips the dog to delivery food to Andy! Why didn't the zombies eat Chips?

Having the zombies eat a deer or a horse speaks to the indiscriminate nature of their hunger. If you make zombies discern what they're eating, you also say that they are thinking, which both increases their humanity and perceived intelligence.
Plus if they stayed clear livestock and wildlife, the survivors could just dress up in animal suits to fool them and who wants to see that.

If I recall correctly, after the petrol pump is blown up there are close up shots of the zombies feating on all the gore, the intestines etc of the couple that were in the truck. It then cuts to Ben running back to the house followed by pans and more close ups of zombies looking for more food. The zombies are seen picking up crickets and small creatures to eat, after the rest of the bodies have been devoured.

Love how everyone that gets bitten doesn't even try to fight back or run, they just stand there while the zombie chomps a chunk of their flesh off.
- I think it happened quite quickly, but obviously it's slowed down for the viewer to take in the graphics. Or something.Jaline
- Plus, once you're bitten you're pretty much dead. I bet most people are too shocked to move. Others will definitely tryJaline
- to run away because it's a natural reflex to fend something off. But maybe it depends on where you're bitten, what you see, etc.Jaline
- see while you're getting bitten, etc.Jaline
- I'd rather die a slow death than be eaten alive, so I'm for fighting backepigraph

what a waste of an hour. wtf

All the weepiness kind of grates after a while.

The ending of the show kind of reminded me of Lost when Locke was yelling at the hatch and the light turned on.

I dunno. I think this show just jumped the shark. It's straying too far from the book imo and there are too many plot holes. merl stole the van, maybe led back the zombies, but never returns to camp and the van is not to be found. then, didn't the RV break down with a bum hose? He says "it was held together with duct tape, and I don't have any more duct tape." So they drop off the guy who was bitten, say their goodbyes and drive off in the RV that was just overheated with a broken hose. wtf?
The whole scene with the abduction and getting him back was a waste of what, 20 minutes? Andrea... good god Andrea. I really was wishing her sister would wake and rip her face off way faster than that.
The book was so much better. The story, the flow, the speed, the development. This show was unwatchable last night. :(

And the CDC?!? WTF THE CDC? No prison?!?! Fuck this.

I don't care for a single character on this show, and that is it's greatest flaw. They can all die for all I care, except maybe the old man.
- hahaha...its true, the old bastard is the only sensible oneabettertomorrow
- maybe thats just it.. thru their whole ordeal, everyone lost all the senses for anything..epilI

I'm still enjoying it. And theres no fun in trying to analyze every little detail looking for holes in zombie flicks. Come on the dead come back to life... pretty big hole. also i like that they don't take ten minutes to explain how they repaired the RV, that would be boring.
- But I love looking for factual flaws in movies that depict living dead.Peter

watched this morning at work.. got to work 40 minutes early.. i liked when the lil sister changed to a zombie, but wished big sister wasnt ready with the gun.. i wonder where bad cop is going with his sex drive.. thankfully old man saw him and laid down the 'look' of what are you doin?
so will all the survivors be guinea pigs for the good doctor? im hoping for some advanced genetic tests that will alter the walkers into something more menacing.. like a Licker from resident evil or a gorrila/ frog creature again resident evil.. over just walking dead.. make them special.. give them super speed..
ok im just reaching.. that is another comic book..
- DRIFTMONKEY0
...and I'm out. I can't watch this show any more. I stopped watching half way through last night's episode. I'll just keep reading the comics.
- i_monk0
I don't know where they're going with this CDC jog, but I hope it doesn't derail the show too much.
The entire episode was worth it just to watch Short Haired Domestic Abuse Wife bash in her dead husband's skull with a pick axe.
