Watched the final episode last night and being a fan of the comic book since it's initial release, I have to say... I liked it.
I thought only having six episodes in the first series was a great way to introduce people to the story, without the audience having to sign up to a 24 episode marathon that just drags on.
There was interesting character development, even in a short space of time, and I for one am happy they've not killed certain characters off yet and introduced the CDC storyline, it'd be pretty boring just watching a straight comic to TV adaptation and it's always good to see some surprises as that's what the comic excels at.
I know people are pretty divided on this show, but I reckon it's been better viewing than most of the shit on TV. Now just got to wait a year for season 2!!

watched the 6 episodes. enjoyed them. read the comic and enjoyed that too. Im ok with the tv not sticking 100% with story. Same writer helping, i'd expect him to find a way to make it even better.

Just finished watching season 1 - very disappointed (but then i haven't read the comic). Call me shallow, but there wasn't nearly enough zombie action. And the final episode just made no sense. I mean if the CDC was a fortress why was it opened for them to then be sealed "forever"? And why didn't they just go get more fuel? Oh, and so likely that a grenade would cause a bullet/chair/axe-proof window to shatter.
Hell, even Survivors was better than this... will not be wasting any more time on this shite

WILL "WALKING DEAD" SEASON 2 FACE BUDGET CUTS?
http://www.comicbookresources.co…
[video in link]"The Walking Dead" showrunner Frank Darabont says the budget for the show's second season may be in jeopardy of being cut by AMC. Will the zombie series pass the grade with a smaller budget?

This show was a complete joke, can't believe how poor it was.
I mean there is a truckload of decent zombie films showing them how to do it right and they manage to fuck it up so badly.
The ending was so laughable too

Awesome ..
The Walking Dead is filming at Riverwood Pkwy and Cobb Pkwy (hwy 41) on June 13 from 5am – 9pm.
The AMC television series “The Walking Dead,” which has spent most of this week filming in Henry County, will be shooting scenes in the Vinings area of Cobb County on Monday. According to a notice sent by the management of the Riverwood 100 office building to tenants, the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Riverwood Parkway, which is just south of Akers Mill Road, will be closed to through traffic from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday “to accommodate scenes being filmed.”
The building’s management firm also warned tenants that “simulated gunfire will be taking place during the filming of these scenes as actors are confronted by a horde of zombies.”
