at the bottom of all this, I believe, it this.
who owns the frame that plays the video that all those millions of people are going to be watching on whatever device they have. That is power, and Flash had it for a few years, but it is being taken back.
- I'm drawing a blank here, but doesn't Flash support H.264 now?CyBrain

^
This is codecs not players, I though FLV was ON VP2? anyway the first 3 are all supported by Flash. On was bought by Google last year and they have no beef with FP

>You have to admit, that there isn't any need for flash on the iPad and iPhone, especially since they take up so much space
Yes. On a device with 16 - 32 gb 1 mb would simply be too much. And swf's...sheeesh. Several Ks.
- let them defend it ad nauseum untill Steeveejee tells them to jump of a cliff and believe me they will..georgesIII
- 1meg would be too much considering you have 15,999 - 31,999 megs left?fyoucher1
- One of you 2 have a faulty sarcasm-meter.Peter

- Love this guy!munch
- HTML5 Looks amazing!utopian
- kinda unfair to showcase HTML5 content that's not designed for a touchscreen, isn't it?kpl
- i'd say it's about as fair as pointing out that the video's narrator has too many chins.kpl
- yeah, obviously these are demos and not meant for the ipad.rosem
- http://vimeo.com/959… Flash (not made for mobile)munch

Nice to see someone did some real research on the Steve's claims.
- Someone wants a lifetime ban from using a macgeorgesIII
- I was just about to post this. The world should see it.CyBrain
- Good video. Nice to see real numbers.fyoucher1
- @georgesIII: Assuming Steve-o even sees it. I suspect he walks around with his eyes closed and his fingers in his ears.Continuity
- I think he totally knows what's up and his hands are on his money.CyBrain

Hoo-fucking-ray...let's all go back to 1998 technology just because cock Jobs says so...what a knob.
- monNom0
Seeing Flash 10.1 running on the google phone is impressive (as munch posted in a note above:
). I can see why Jobs is scared for the app store, given all the free flash content out there.
- BusterBoy0
So how the hell can Jobs say that Flash runs like crap on mobile devices when it's clearly evident that is just bullshit?
Apple have always been the frontrunners, often taking the piss out of their competitors. You know you're in trouble when you're the subject of parody...Apple is clearly losing this PR battle.
- georgesIII0
It's all about Cash and I'm glad people are waking up for Steeveejee's bullshit,
even my ultra fanboy boss is calling it, so maybe there's a future for the tech world- well of course it is. you thought Apple was a charity? Do you think Google is one?kpl
- munch0
These battery life demos are also very interesting http://www.flashmobileblog.com/2…
- CyBrain0
And isn't it admitting vast inferiority to say the iPad can't achieve the same performance as an android phone?
- twokids0
It's not that he is saying that flash 'runs like crap' is he? I think the point is that a Flash app is huge compared to something written in Cocoa or whatever....and a big difference....
and when you are dealing with mobile devices, you don't have the fat you have with computers, gazillion megs of ram and hard drive storage....
And I am not really sure that apple is losing this battle. Sounds like Adobe is really on the defensive for the most part.....but they are slugging it out, that's for sure
- Steve - We have routinely asked Adobe to show us Flash performing well on a mobile devicemunch
- hotroddy0
Hey lock yourselves in and don't ask any questions. Steve knows what's good for you.
- Yup. Pay no attention to the cage with the adobe logo. That's the way to freedom!kpl
- adobe is not asking me to chose between one or the other.hotroddy
- Why doesn't Adobe allow anything but AS2 or AS3 to run Flash then?kpl
- Why not expose the iPhone API to their iPhone packager? Cos Flash/Flex framework's all you really need, says Adobekpl
- there are many apps that export to swf that aren't owned by adobe. Iphone could do same and up 2 applehotroddy
- like adobe livemotion? that really went places.kpl
- twokids0
Steve to Adobe: Suck on this. If flash were so important, why are these people buying the thing?
Is that all just the Apple faithful?
- hotroddy0
Because it's cheap and it's flashy and you can touch the screen.

Stupid question of the day
with which company have you made more money Adobe or Apple? As a PC user, I can honestly say that I made more money thanks to Adobe products then apple products. not even Microsoft because this is the platform where I work on,
At work, I work on an Apple pc but without Adobe products I can say that I wouldn't be doing lots of things.
So if I had to chose a camp, I prefer to chose the hyper closed camp of Adobe instead of Apple's,
Adobe have helped me put food on my table for at least a decade, not apple nor microsoft. So go Adobe!
- Btw, the rest of you that actually don't work with adobe products on a daily basis, can go back to discussing ipads and flash, thanksgeorgesIII
- I work with adobe products all day. That's why I'm so anti-Adobe.kpl
- I've made my career much more from Adobe, but that's not why they're right about Flash.CyBrain
- But we may agree that SJ is full of shit on this subject, georgesIII
- Bullitt0
Its all to do with Itunes.... Mr Jobs doesn't want you to experience any interactivity on your Iphone/Ipad for free. IT MUST BE THROUGH ITUNES. Because thats the cash cow in all of this.

Apple stock price = $237 Share up $6.33 today
Market Cap $243BAdobe Stock Price - $33 Share up $.16 today

- So? like comparing ford to coca cola because you can drink a coke while driving a ford, doesn't mean jackgeorgesIII
