For me, I love Apple's design and would have no problem paying a little more for that. BUT I also run a business, advise client purchases, etc.
I bought an iPhone because I could show video on it, clients love it and are using it. BUT I never wanted to show a website, just too small, so I don't really care.
I would LOVE an iPad to combine with our large touchscreen presentations and websites, seems like the perfect middle ground for presentations.
So I am hoping enough people complain and Apple decides it isn't worth alienating more customers.
If I could use everything I need (granted, I still need Windows for my architecture/3D stuff, which is an Autodesk power play) on an Apple, I would switch.
When does that new Windows phone come out?

I'd love to support a company that is so design and quality based, but I need to prioritize business over desire.

This thread is actually a good read. Thanks. Refreshing from the "FUCK APPLE" discussions that go on elsewhere.

I'm sorry...those who think Jobs is restricting Flash because it benefits the consumer is delusional. It's App vs browser.
The ipad is positioning itself against the browser. Canceling out flash is canceling out rich media experiences in the browser. For the last ten years Flash has been 'pushing the envelope' as to what is possible on the internet. Who knows what new crazy technologies will immerge in the future. But whatever it is, Apple is going to make you use/buy it through the app store.- it's business, Adobe tries to defend their shit and so does Apple, thing is the iPhones are Apple's not Adobe'sernexbcn

^ Key quote:
'It doesn't mean this is the end of Flash,' said Sheri McLeish, an analyst with Forrester Research.
'Apple is not the only game in town, and PC and Windows devices continue to dominate the market.'

^ LOLz, what a sensational article. Read it and then click through to the original, which just that Adobe is giving away Android phones to some of their developers, which makes perfect sense they will be developing for the platform.
Gotta love journalism.

KEEP FLASH, KILL THE PLAYER
You have to admit, that there isn't any need for flash on the iPad and iPhone, especially since they take up so much space and are big memory hogs....
As someone who uses and designs with flash, I'm very skeptical as to its future. A "hello world" apps that can be built in 400k vs 3.5MB with flash, looks very unacceptable.
There is no flash game out there that can compete with the high quality of games on the iPhone, so why bother to dream? HTML5 will kill the Flash Player.
My only hope is that Flash redesigns itself to export HTML/ Javascript/CSS apps and become truely open-sourced. For the past 10 years, there hasn't been a program that could help you make sophisticated timeline animation with javascript.

I am telling you, Flashy HTML is the future.
Bring back the original Macromedia team to build it also.

I love OSX, but nothing else about Apple or their products. When I buy computers and devices, I want to be buying an electronic device that I own and have dominion over, not a means by which to exercise my Terms of Use Agreement. I'm glad Apple makes getting software easy, but if I want to install something they don't approve of on the device I purchased, there should be no penalty. It's really hard for me to come up with a more accurate analogy to Apple's business plan than facism.
A walled garden is nice, as long as you're willing to stay on the paths. I'll be buying PCs in the future, because Apple's ideology is not the one I want to be the de facto.
- pc's are much faster, apple are toysspraycan
- the only good thing about apple is their developpers websitespraycan
- and the fact you don't have to deal with this shit. - http://www.qbn.com/t…Naygon
- you just need a good firewall like ESETspraycan

I wish I could get myself to use a PC. But only because of the available price offerings. They're hideous machines! Space wasters compared to the iMac. It's such a sacrifice to buy a cheap machine and deal with horrible usability issues on the PC running windows 7.
- Why sacrifice? Get bothukit
- Or partition your iMac HDD and install Win7. Done and done.Continuity
