Uncharted 4... damn! played it 3 hours last night when it unlocked, so far it's amazing.
- This is what I wanted to hear : )MrT
- Left mine to download before heading off to work, hopefully it'll be ready when I get home!cruddlebub
- Same here ernex. Amazing game so far, so much attention to detail. The facial expressions and motion capture is insane!Milan
- fucking love it.Bluejam
- I haven't played Uncharted before, do I need the Nathan Drake collection before I play 4?mekk
- I don't think so, mekk. I've only played 3 and am getting along just fine. There are some moments where they do make references, though.duckseason
- Game is much longer than I thought it would be - currently about 16h in on "hard" difficulty. Story/Visuals are great. Gameplay is starting to get repetitive.duckseason
- the graphics are incredible. far out.inteliboy
- My playtime was 17 hours on hard, now I'm replaying it again on crushing and getting all the treasures/notes/etcernexbcn

Tropico 5 is free for all PS+ users, and it's kinda fun. Will make me wait until No Man's Sky drops.

- I'm tempted to get this as I love bone-headed FPS', no matter how silly. I have been playing the recent Wolfensteins again and need more 'splosions and gore.face_melter

- I did actually buy it and have been playing it on and off - it's a legit Doom game - fast, brutal, looks and plays great.face_melter

Uncharted 4 looks like the devs picked and placed every single leaf by hand.
Stunning! Recommended.
- amazing huh. we've been gazing at the graphics most of the time instead of actually playing the game.inteliboy

I tried VR for the first time the other day at my mates. (HTC VIVE).
Being curious about what all the hype was about I was looking forward to trying but not sure how good it really was going to be.
I was utterly blown away by it, I was really surprised at how immersive it was! Im not sure it could ever replace gaming as it stands but as another interactive experience it really is amazing
Can't wait till Sony release their PS4 VR system so I can get one at home.

I prefer AR to VR. I got to try the hololens out and its pretty awesome. It scans the room and I played some game where aliens were coming out of the walls. Very cool, and doesnt make me sick like VR does.
- < not tried any AR yet. I was expecting to get sick but didn't on this rigdee-dubs
- Ive used the samsung gear vr and the oculus. Its forward movement that gets me. Looking around doesnt bother me.CygnusZero4
- Yeah thats a good point, none of the stuff i tried had motion other than jumping from point a to b...dee-dubs
- which we thought may have been done to reduce motion sicknessdee-dubs

I am considering building a PC for gaming. I am a long-time hardcore Mac guy and the PC will be strictly for gaming. I also want to get a Oculus at some point too. I can Google it myself, but I'm looking at recommendations for a up-to-date guide to do this?
I want to build a small console-like machine, very much like the Alienware X51 form factor. I will be hooking this up to my Plasma TV which is 1080 (I'm not getting 4K until there is enough content to justify and when I do it will be OLED). Or should I just get the Alienware and call it a day?
Thanks!- amazing fun building pc's.
Wouldn't bother with alienware:.
use https://pcpartpicker…
if in UK DON'T use scan.co.uk the worse.mugwart - most films are worked on at 2k and up-resed back to 4k. (not all but most). Cant see the need for 4k.mugwart
- I work on commercials and everything is shot in 5K or 6K, then converted down for broadcast and streaming.ArmandoEstrada
- Thanks for the link!ArmandoEstrada
- Also you might find this helpful in narrowing down the selection of components:
http://www.logicalin…kenteeko - most tvc's are still shot in 2k or 4k here in australia.inteliboy
- met the guys at https://pcpartpicker… - really great ideaHayoth
- Building a PC now is incredibly easy. I did it this year after using Mac for years - took less than half a day to put it together and running. Zero problems.face_melter
- Honestly the best decision I have ever made regarding buying a computer.face_melter
- ... but I don't use it for games :/face_melter
- I want to do this, but maybe use it as a Mackintosh toomonospaced
- Hackintosh, that is.monospaced
- amazing fun building pc's.

Really really dont mean to spam this, but we've been working on a new puzzle game and Im super proud of it, should be launching the closed Beta in a few weeks tops, please sign up if you've got a iOS thing!! Would love to know what you think:

- Also because of all of the weapons, armor, etc... Significantly more things to be found than in Super Metroid.CygnusZero4
- You need to challenge yourself - your neuronal pathways are hardening into conservative routes - if you don't, you'll be forever mired in the past.detritus
- Gaming is garbage today. The worst ive ever seen it. Id rather play this.CygnusZero4
- That's my point - it really isn't.detritus

@ArmandoEstrada
I would recommend building your own rig since it is faster and cheaper than prebuilt for the same $. However, fancy form factors are not always possible. You're stuck with mATX for performance builds.
I would never buy Alienware. If you want a fancy form factor I would recommend the MSO Vortex G65:
If the form factor is about noise and space, you might like the Steam Link, a $50 device that streams the game from your PC to your TV via your home network. No more noise, almost no input lag when using wired connection.
http://store.steampowered.com/ap…If you give me a budget I can get a decent build.
Oh and 4K content.. most games are able to run in native 4k@60FPS when using the right hardware :-)

- Holy shit, just watching the trailer made me buy it. It's downloading and will be ready to play when I get home from from work with my son!elahon

@mekk
I was thinking on spending around $1500 or so. Im currently torn between getting the best I can afford (i7, the new Nvidia card 1080), of which I won't be able to take advantage of on my 1080p plasma, or get something modest at the moment that can run Oculus. I thinking on getting something cheaper that can run VR and upgrade the card and processor later. Thoughts?- wouldn't the oculus vr rig require a lot more power behind it than the single gaming machine for the 1080 tv?monospaced
- mekk3
$1500 gets you a fucking great rig.
I have this $1200 list for you:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4yYkvK…It's probably best to wait for the GTX 1080 to arrive. Meanwhile, I chose the 980ti. You might want to upgrate to 16 GB of RAM if you feel like, but 8 is enough for now.
i5 all the way for gaming, it is the same as an i7 just without a thing called "Hyperthreading" which games take no advantage of.
I left out the case to choose for yourself. This is an ATX Form Factor build, if you want a small case, you need the Motherboard to be mATX.
How about the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv?
For build guides, @LinusTechTips has good ones, as well as Corsair: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/lan…, https://www.youtube.com/user/lin…
- VR runs from GTX 970 and up, oculus says. I'd wait for the 1080 and AMD upcoming release if you want it for VR.mekk
- I have a phanteks Enthoo (unevolved) - a great wee case.. and cheap too.detritus
- I say 'wee' it's fucking huge.detritus
- I think my next GPU will be nVidia - I've been AMD since the 90s. Review of their GTX1080: http://arstechnica.c…detritus
- yeah nvidias marketing tactic is not really adorable, they are more expensive but simply the better product atm... I'd love to re-join team red but not now :(mekk

Getting fired up for this. From the guy behind Symphony of the Night.
