@docpoz actually I think FPS don't translate that well, if you are moving using the controller a virtual character it feels a bit weird.
Best are things that put you in a cockpit, I read it tricks the brain better if you see a cockpit around you.
Guerrilla Cambridge is releasing a multiplayer game with the PS VR called Rigs that puts players inside a robo-suit.

Racing games will be awesome with VR. Cockpit view is generally horrible on racing games. But, with VR, could be really awesome.
- Yep, it is. Even shitty graphics w/ VR racing is better than good graphics w/ non-VR.nb
- imho, I can't wait 'til they get so common place that we end up with devs making 'shitty' (or lo-fi) graphics. Can't wait to be *inside* a 16-bit-style world...detritus
- i cant have VR and i'm afraid of buying it. I'm going to get hooked on porn and never get out of the housedrgs
- Porn is insane. Honestly do not recommend. You will fry your brain.nb
- Porn on VR, I mean. Obviously.nb

Last night I introduced my nephew to SNES Zelda, and older games via SNES9X and Roms. He loves it, but once I leave he can't play because they're all on my laptop and he doesn't have a mac.
Question: Are Roms from torrent sites generally trusted to be safe for Windows? He has a windows laptop and I'd like to get him some kind of wireless controller and make him a USB stick with a ton of my favourite oldies so he can play them while I'm away.
Any suggestions on ways to ensure safe roms/emulators for NES/SNES/Genesis, etc on Windows? Yeah, I know he can buy most of that stuff for Wii, but then his little brothers bother him too much. Playing in the browser is no good either, because he's still a little too young for his parents to allow him unsupervised internet access.
- imo, much-downloaded Torrents are fairly safe anyway, as long as the folder with the ROMs is all that can be accessed - no EXEs or ZIPs, I'd say he should be okdetritus
- hand pick the top 50 ROMs and hand them over. They are safe on their own, and he wouldn't know what's good by testing hundreds anyway. Not like us 80s kids.monospaced
- Yeah, I think I'll start him off with 5 and then send him new ones every now and then. Too many choices is no fun!nb
- don't forget F-Zeromonospaced
- Aye, hand-picking ROM is a great idea - just make him a Zip with all the things you yourself trust.detritus
- Go to:
e m u p a r a d i s e . m e
for your rom / emulator needs. Massive selection, been using it for years with no problems.face_melter - Torrents? Why? There are loads of sites that host every game. SNES games are like 5mb.section_014
- what sites, section_014? WIth a torrent, I was able to download 300+ SNES games in a single go, and 75% of them are good.monospaced
- i've never heard of an "unsafe" romscarabin
- Viruses, Scarabin. Viruses.set
- i know. i've been using roms since... roms. and never heard anything about them being infected. just sayin' there's not much to worry aboutscarabin
- i use piratebay. download a pack like this https://thepiratebay…scarabin

Played this last night, it's a right laugh. And non-gamers seemed to enjoy it just as much. Don't have a VR headset but would only be better I guess. Awesomely stressful.

@nb buy him a Raspberry PI 2 or 3 and install RetroPie on it, it's like Plex but for old consoles, it even supports modern console controllers.

Dark Souls III tonight!
- CygnusZero40
- This is where I left the series. No wait, I left it at 8, which I only played through about a 1/4 of the way. Skipped 9 entirely, got this and maybe played 1hr?SteveJobs
- 9 was amazing, i know some people were not into the childish look (compared to 8 and 10) but it was fabulous, great memories.spl33nidoru
- 9 is great. 10 is probably my favorite of all of them because its so different, but still very final fantasy. after that it died.CygnusZero4
- 8 is very annoying with the draw system but i still played the shit out of it and beat it. would probably never play it again though.CygnusZero4
- 7 was great at the time and is still good but i dont think its aged as well as 9 and 10 have. to me those were the 2 best ff games.CygnusZero4
- 9 was by the creator of 7 so it makes sense that it has stood the test of timedocpoz

- These guys shut their doors. Luckily Codemasters was there to swoop them up and keep them mostly intact.SteveJobs

- Codemasters make the best racers IMHO now that Criterion appear to have stopped.MrT
- Drive Club needed that Codemasters level of presentation and sheen. Great looking and technically amazing, but kinda cold with it.face_melter
- hmm, don't get me wrong but this is only the nice rain effect, nothing besides it. flat colors, sterile area, undetailed cockpit and blurry even at 600x340...mekk
- that is crazy good.Al_dizzle

"HOW I SPENT TWO HOURS IN NO MAN'S SKY"
- set2
I've always had a soft spot for this type of light hearted, colourful platformer game. Nintendo-esque I guess. This looks fun...
- then you might like "Trine 3", "Unravel" and "ori and the blind forest"mekk
- Yea nice, they're proper platformers. Not sure I used the right word for this Ratchet & Clank which isn't really like them. What is it, an RPG?set
- Whatever it is, I likes it.set
- my boy used to love these.cruddlebub
- before this they made sunset overdrive for the xbox one. its a game more people need to play. 2+ years into this gen its still the most fun game ive played.CygnusZero4
- if you like ratchet and clanks its completely impossible for you to not love sunset overdrive. i liked it more than r&c future on the ps3 which was a great gameCygnusZero4
- You sound just like my teenage cousins Cygnusmonospaced
- Leave him alone he's living the dreamset
- Cygnus selling dat Xbxoernexbcn
