I was thinking on spending around $1500 or so. Im currently torn between getting the best I can afford (i7, the new Nvidia card 1080), of which I won't be able to take advantage of on my 1080p plasma, or get something modest at the moment that can run Oculus. I thinking on getting something cheaper that can run VR and upgrade the card and processor later. Thoughts?

- wouldn't the oculus vr rig require a lot more power behind it than the single gaming machine for the 1080 tv?monospaced
