I am considering building a PC for gaming. I am a long-time hardcore Mac guy and the PC will be strictly for gaming. I also want to get a Oculus at some point too. I can Google it myself, but I'm looking at recommendations for a up-to-date guide to do this?
I want to build a small console-like machine, very much like the Alienware X51 form factor. I will be hooking this up to my Plasma TV which is 1080 (I'm not getting 4K until there is enough content to justify and when I do it will be OLED). Or should I just get the Alienware and call it a day?
Thanks!- amazing fun building pc's.
Wouldn't bother with alienware:.

if in UK DON'T use scan.co.uk the worse.mugwart - most films are worked on at 2k and up-resed back to 4k. (not all but most). Cant see the need for 4k.mugwart
- I work on commercials and everything is shot in 5K or 6K, then converted down for broadcast and streaming.ArmandoEstrada

- Also you might find this helpful in narrowing down the selection of components:
http://www.logicalin…kenteeko - most tvc's are still shot in 2k or 4k here in australia.inteliboy

- Building a PC now is incredibly easy. I did it this year after using Mac for years - took less than half a day to put it together and running. Zero problems.face_melter
- Honestly the best decision I have ever made regarding buying a computer.face_melter
