I broke up with my lady a few weeks back after 3 year relationship...It was marry her or move to NYC....we had issues...I had the rest of my life to think about...she wasn't willing to come to ny...secretly the thought of being a single man in NYC was much more exciting:)....moral of the story....enjoy the open waters of being selfish man while you can....love will find you again if you are happy with your own life
- I think the moral is, if you aren't sure, don't do it.Amicus

Not sure if you are still reading this, but if you are Cap'n. I understand what you are going through. It took me a year to get over my separation and start dating again. I'm twice the person I was then, and much happier for it. I'm glad you don't have kids, cause they suffer the most in a break up.
Make sure you get out and exercise lots. Get the endorphin high, and if nothing else, at least you'll be looking good when you do get back to dating.

Listen to the Cure. A little bit of Robert Smith melancholia dressed up with some seriously beautiful melodies will let you grieve for what you've lost but give you some hope for the future.
(well, it worked for me anyways)
PS - the intro for Love Cats always gets me in a better mood with the first three seconds.

Very sorry, good Captain. Glad to hear your friends have stepped up—that is their job; good that you're letting them do it.
Feel better, sir, and good luck.

Two of my good friends are going through a messy separation right now, and boy do I mean messy. Let me explain.
Group of friends. New guy starts hanging out with group of friends. Husband is leery of this guy, on general principle, cause he is very blatantly a man-whore. Tells wife to avoid him, for his own sanity. Wife obliges, but not for long... New friend and wife start hanging out one-on-one. People start noticing. New friend is confronted, says he's sorry and didn't know it was an issue, and that he just has lots friends, both guys and gals. Couple weeks later, another friend in the group catches the new friend and the guy fucking each other's brains out in a back bedroom of another mutual friend's apartment.
Husband is irate, girlfriend has resigned to not caring anymore because she knows she fucked up big time, but they also had a bunch of other issues previous to this. They argue all the time lately, and decide to separate for a few weeks to let things settle down. Finally, girlfriend has a "come to Jesus" moment, or so the husband thinks, as she invites him back over to their house for a night of talking and make-up sex. Things get hot and heavy. She says, "I wanna try something new to spice things up, make this work between us." Pulls out two pairs of handcuffs. Husband is into that, gets tied up to the bed, completely prone. Girlfriend lets him fuck her to climax. Then she does the unthinkable and shits on his chest, tells him, "That's for XYZ" or whatever her reason was. Leaves him there with shit on his chest.
Housemate comes home to hear husband screaming for help. Housemate comes in and falls out laughing, etc.
Story gets told to me, and I'm asked not to tell anyone. Well haha, I figure I just told at least 100 people on here, but at least none of you know these people. My bad, bro!
- 100 people?... shit i'm going to tell 100 people that story.prophet0NE

man, i read the initial post and said to myself - "this dude is pissed cuz his wife who he is divorcing met a new guy"
sure enough, that is the case.
on one hand - you cant expect she wouldnt meet guys since you are getting divorced
on the other - you shouldnt expect to be BFFs with a woman you are divorcing.
I guess this is all just reality smacking you in the nads.
sorry, dude.

People treat divorce like it’s death. And it’s not. It’s another life. It would be truly sad if the couple were happy and desperately in love and then they got divorced. But no good marriage ever ends in divorce, only the bad ones. Anyway, that's what Louis C.K had to say about the topic.

I know a couple who run a business together after they split up, but I am sure I would do all I could in order to part ways. But everyone and their situation is different.. (and yet it's the same old story that happened millions times before)

Thank you SB! i try to be hear as a person for others and hope they would do the same. Take a look at this thread and they are being really cool. I really do appreciate you digital friends here on QBN.

Sorry to hear this, Capn_Ron... and don't apologize for a second about initiating a thread like this (because it's not "design related").
If we as a community can't be there in support of each other for whatever serious curve-balls life throws at us, then who gives a fuck about anyone's opinion here on the usage of Pantone® 319 uncoated versus 3105 uncoated.
I sincerely hope everything gets sorted as smooth as possible, and you'll be able to move forward to the next stage of your life in the most positive fashion.

"In 2008, 46% of all marriages involve a remarriage for one or both spouses. It is estimated that 40% of all marriages have ended in divorce as of 2008."
- stagering numbers. Why do we wed then? is it engraved in our culture to be happy people?capn_ron
- weddings are stem from religious practices. they are completely archaic and unnecessary.iCanHazQBN
