i honestly don't know whether to be terrified or just to feel sorry for these people.
but at the same time, if it brings meaning and joy to their lives and it doesn't affect anyone else negatively, then more power to them.

It couldn't possibly be anyone other than Jesus, since he was very real and also the only bearded male to ever exist. Oh wait, he was neither.

Actually Jesus was quite real, regardless of whether people think he's the son of God or not. There is more historical evidence of his life than of Julius Caesar's, and nobody doubts that Caesar existed.
I didn't even click on the link, because typically when people hawk Jesus like he's some sort of product, I simply turn and walk the other way.
- of course he existed, I doubt people doubt that.. the doubts come from some of the embellishments his story sufferedMeeklo

- heh. Oh Lord.Scotch_Roman
- Show me factual evidence that the stories were embellished, outside of your impeccable logic.Scotch_Roman

Actually, there is little to no evidence that he existed, really. Only the New Testament mentions him. Scotch_Roman, what historical evidence are you referring to?

- ooh, i see what you did there, because i didn't see the other one :/version3

Monospaced, that's incorrect. Flavius Josephus, a non-Christian Jewish historian (apx. 37–101 AD) wrote about Jesus, along with a number of Jesus' friends/colleagues/acquaintances in his writings.
Tacitus, the Roman historian (55–117 AD), mentions Jesus, AKA "Christus" in his annals.
Pliny the younger, Roman governor of Bithynia, talks about Jesus and his followers in at least one of his ten annals.
The Jewish Talmud gives a detailed account of Jesus crucifixion and death.
Greek writer/rhetorician Lucian also talks about Jesus.
Those are just a few to get you started.
- NONE of which were written during his lifetime.monospaced
- Very shortly afterwards though. Don't see how that *really* makes a difference.Scotch_Roman
- Big difference. No actual records of a miracle-maker, anywhere, ever. Not until AFTER he died.monospaced
