i liked the..
"McCain said he would chase Bin Laden to hell...he wont even go to his cave" quote...Hilarious...made me laugh out loud.
- Lt_Jack_Hammer0
Bottom line is this. If you vote for McCain you're either 1 of 2 things...
1) A complete uniformed moron who doesn't really know the issues and what's going on.
or
2) You only care about money and yourself...you don't care about your kids and their future or this country and it's future.
BOTTOM LINE, END OF STORY. If you genuinely think McCain is better then you're one of those 2 things...DONE.
- I think you're a closet conservative.Jaline
- ...the way things are so cut and dry.Jaline
- (I'm talking more about open-mindedness)Jaline
- I'm with you, JackDr_Rand
- Pulling punches is how the Dem's got here in the first place. NO MORE PULLING PUNCHES!!!Lt_Jack_Hammer
- (I do agree with you about how no one should vote for McCain, but saying "bottom line" is obnoxious)Jaline
- this is what i was talking aboutsputnik2
- flashbender0
^ that's not narrow minded at all
- And half of the stuff Republicans spew is 10x worse. It has to be simple and clear for the morons on this country to understand.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- ...understand. This is too important to be a pussy Democrat about.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- Nice "You're either with us or against us" philosophy.flashbender
- So that hasn't been a tactic of the Retardican's for the last 8+ years? The old divide and conquer method.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- you keep referring to your argument in terms of the republicans... doesn't that present a problem for you?flashbender

nytimes does a good job covering this:

agreeing with idiots is being open minded?
- "you don't care about your kids and their future or this country and it's future."
really?Jaline - Sure it is, you're right.mikotondria3
- "you don't care about your kids and their future or this country and it's future."

I put it in a note, but now I feel like making it its own thing.
JackHammers post is classic GW Bush "You're either with us or against us" stance. Something that all the dems were all up in arms about when he said it.Aren't you supposed to be taking the high ground and be a bit more open minded that that?
- yep.mia_free
- It's not a "you're with us or against us" it's the truth...read my post below....Lt_Jack_Hammer
- yourmia_free
- "Truth" is not absolute - it is subjective. My truth is probably different than your truth.flashbender
- by your mentality the US is totally justified in using torture as well - because that is what the other side does?flashbender
- mia, I did use "you're" and not "your"...pay attention stupid.Lt_Jack_Hammer

I loved this section. this shows he understands that these issues are not black and white and should be addressed in a realistic manner.
"We may not agree on abortion, but surely we can agree on reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies in this country. The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang-violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. I know there are differences on same-sex marriage, but surely we can agree that our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters deserve to visit the person they love in the hospital and to live lives free of discrimination. Passions fly on immigration, but I don't know anyone who benefits when a mother is separated from her infant child or an employer undercuts American wages by hiring illegal workers. This too is part of America's promise - the promise of a democracy where we can find the strength and grace to bridge divides and unite in common effort."

"The greatest I've ever seen."
Dr, are you referring to speeches Obama has ever given, or for anyone? I hope the former, as this is about as canned DNC as could ever be...
- Let's make sure you make that same comment about the RNC next week.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- want me to post-date it now? i gladly will.
no clue who you are, Jack, but you clearly have no clue about my views.madirish - my views. there could not be anyone here more to the left than i.madirish
- Lt_Jack_Hammer0
If you knew McCain and how he's voted....his actual public record (which is a fact...zero Dem or Repub spin..just facts)....then you could clearly see he's not about the things that are going to benefit middle class families, their kids (education), the environment, etc. So, yes, if you can look at his voting record and still support him then you 100% do not care about you're families future or this countries future....you're either uninformed or only out for money and yourself. You cannot look at this stuff and intelligently think that he's going to be the change this country needs...it's impossible...unless you're an uninformed moron or out for yourself.
- It must be nice to see the world where there is no grey area - just black and white.flashbender
- I'm simplifying my message for you Republicans since that is a classic tactic of yours.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- madirish0
"You cannot look at this stuff and intelligently think that he's going to be the change this country needs...it's impossible..."
I like you Jack. Honestly, I really do. That comment though, can be applied across the board to ANY presidential candidate for the last 40 years.
- Lt_Jack_Hammer0
flashbender... so when the Republican's use that tactic as a means to separate and divide people it's totally fine....but, when Democrats use that very same tactic it's all of a sudden bad and people get all worked up about how wrong it is. Problem is, Dem's have been too passive for too long. I'm pissed that this country (and the world) is as effed as it is...enough is enough...so, yeah, it's time for a little taste of their own medicine...time to take a stand and stop being spineless babies.
- sputnik20
wow jack_hammer, you have to make things "clear and simple for the morons of this country"? there have been two parties for over 200 years for a reason...they are ideologically different. just because someone doesn't agree with your point of view doesn't make them a retard. you're entitled to your perspective and i don't see how calling you names would make for intelligent discourse. it would be nice if you could refrain from calling others names too.
- Elect Harold Stassen!
capsize - wow, sputnik, you're a baby...seriously, calling you a retard hurt you? grow up.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- ok, so there is no intelligent discourse with you. thanks for clarifying.sputnik2
- Elect Harold Stassen!
- Lt_Jack_Hammer0
Clearly, for those too stupid to understand my message, I'm being over dramatic and simplifying (making a very complex thing very black and white) because it's a common tactic used by Republicans. It's funny how upset they (being Republicans) get when one of their own tactics is being used against them. The world is a very complex place...lot's of in's and out's and TONS of gray area...it sucks to have something so complex and personal be chopped down to a simple yes and no or black and white...doesn't it?
- locustsloth0
So to make us realize how bad Republicans are, you're acting like one while advocating the Democratic ticket with your words?
- Oh, and calling names (sorry, forgot that)locustsloth
- < precisely.flashbender
- flashbender0
hahahahaha. This is precisely why I despise political parties:
"I'm simplifying my message for you Republicans since that is a classic tactic of yours."
Becasue I disagree with your narrow minded view I simply can not be a devoted Democrat in your mind. And you don't see anything wrong with that.
Also, I never said that I think the tactics the GOP uses are acceptable, I said it was disappointing that you would use the same tactics. That you propose change, yet use the same old, tired means to attempt to bring about this change.
But it is fabulous that you think me a Republican simply because I disagree with your person view that you put forth as "Truth"
- well saidsputnik2
- I'm not a Democrat dude.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- and I'm not a Republican. My point is the dems have painted the GOP as the "evil" party and it is counterproductive for >>flashbender
- them to use the same tactics to make their point.flashbender

what would sureshot blog?
- Witt0
Not trying to subvert the topic of this thread, but Clinton made a statement 2 days ago that's already a classic in PT's liberal blogosphere:
"People the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power."
- jjoeth60
I want to watch the speech again and whack off, it was that good.
- Lt_Jack_Hammer0
I also think the 2 party system sucks.
- < in that, it should be more.Lt_Jack_Hammer
- that depends. Big countries cannot have too many parties. They would simply stall.Witt
- I can not agree with this enough. 5 would be good. 12 would be betterflashbender
- 5? why 5? you need a center and 2 sets of radicals?Witt
- common 5 is what we have here. That means some balance indeed but it also means excessive paperwork.Witt
- I love paperworkflashbender
