the kid is straight lying. period. He ghosted for huge periods of time, made promises and was still given huge opportunities.
money is money true, but professionalism is professionalism. invoices are invoices. the technology he bought was never used.
we tried to square up but again, he ghosted and moved to Florida... or something like that. saying that he was exploited is funny.
he was exposed to professional markets that he would have never interacted with otherwise. The Solstice book was handed out to people that are not hanging out on fucking blogs on saturday night.send a fucking invoice and get paid. good lord!... are you guys serious.

My client list is really growing with some major names, thanks. I got them just how most members got their clients before even joining theKDU: networking, word of mouth, and exposure.
I'm sure thekdu definitely helps with that, but it isn't American Idol. It's not something that makes you or breaks you. I have to agree with the depthcore sentiments, even if I think killerqueen is being a jackass.
Also, son, David knows why the project was "ghosted" but I'm not about to discuss his personal issues here. Business, sure, but nothing personal.

what personal issues? I heard you kind of stalked the fools and Dave did not have time when he was dealing with his divorce last year. he does not hate you but did convey that when someone writes an invoice, he will pay it. we also expect to have the software we bought in return.

Wow. Well, Im not about to take sides and have no problem taking heat from any blog nerd douche bag out there, so here it is.
I think the KDU is an awesome idea and think that there are tons of designers etc that are involved who do fantastic work! I haven't looked at everyone's stuff who criticized the KDU or "son" but I know the KDU Crew has a lot of work that most of you could never do on your own or with out biting.
I also think that Killerqueen is a complete fucking flake and has no clout what so ever, anywhere on the internet that i have found. Let me know if there is something i should see that might make me think you have any room to criticize anyone for their attempt at being or doing anything.
The KDU is a resource for both Gensler and the designers involved. It is what they all make it. Most of the work they show is self promotional, but that marketing tactic has propelled some of the best and most successful designer's careers in the shortest times. Gensler is an entrepreneur just like the designers and artist etc he (the KDU employs) He is doing things like he wants in order to attain his own goals and in the process sharing his resources with friends, business owners, artists and homies.
Fuck Depthcore, that is some weak ass played out over talked about shit. There are hundreds of sites just like that out there doing nothing other than creating another avenue for a designer/artist to get a little love on the internet.
I dont know anything the payment situation with Gensler and home slice, but what i do know is that sort of stuff happens a lot. People get busy and flake out. It has nothing to do with how shady Gensler is or does it sacrifice the validity of his endeavor. Son, has a tiny point, if you are that pissed fix it. If you can't get your loot that way forget about it or find another way to make your money's worth. That shit sucks, but its happened to us all. Feel lucky it wasn't high dollar. You said is yourself, Gensler had other shit goin on. Why bring it up if you know its a shitty example.

I am taking three steps back... and here is what I see.
homie has built a finely tuned global army. they do projects all over the world and help accelerate people. Dave is straight fucking nuts, but also backs his friends with real loyalty. everyone that talks shit is not really of any serious weight. Dave and everyone else that runs the KDU has never made claims... saying they are better than someone - just doing their own thing. if you dont like it... dont pay attention.
people like to say the svsv line is fake and the kdu has no clients... yet they have a massive base camp in NYC filled with people.
i guess that all must be some photoshopped pictures of their accounting firm? I dont see you kids with 5000 square feet of space in NYC.that is just the facts.

Ive been part of the kdu for what feels like years. Yes the kdu mantra seems a bit over the type hype wise, yes dave may seem crazy but he is just a really enthusiastic dude and EXTREMELY loyal to those close to him creatively. Further what seems like propoganda and empty words to you guys, really is just more of an effort to put a message and concept behind the visuals made. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt but its about the motivation to at least try with the kdu.
I have not made a dime directly from the KDU and dont really need to, we have a pretty healthy client base and enough of a name to do just fine. The kdu is more like extra credit and the freedom and collaborative effort to make really restraint free work without the headache of clients that actually gets a decent amount of visibility. Son might take his gospel a bit overboard but really its just a bunch of stoked creatives on a variety of levels coming together when time permits to rock out some work for the love of it. Love it or leave it.
