Work for objectives. The more the options you show, the more feedback you get from your client and therefore involving him in the process is a great way to help your work as you have more information, provide you are creative in that sense as well. And remember, keep your things organized and eath healthy to feed you brain.

I guess the thing with that Graphic Designer's rate guide is that it's aimed at the IT end of the industry - which is to say, not necessarily the really well paid, brand and campaign end, but more the multitasking 'can you do print brochures and flash?' end.

I've always found the industry standards pretty absurd...

the thing is.. i dont charge per hour.. cause im dicking around on youtube for like 5 hours in a day...
so my '2days' actually takes a week. ie. 24hrs spread over a week... (unless there IS a 2day deadline.. then it does happen in 2 days)
Nairn, its not just how long it takes to do the logo or reasearch.. think longterm.. you can charge them a couple of grand.. and bust their piggy bank.. or get 700 for the logo.. and then at a later date another 600 for the shop window.. then another 400for rudimentary advertising.. etc..
(..wow.. i sounds like a f*cking dick...)
its true though...
