"Deaths as super typhoon hits China"
that makes it sound like some really bad c-list supervillain with a really bad costume is causing trouble in china.

* mutters to self.. "global warming does not affect the weather. ...global warming does not affect the weather ..."
What the fuck does that mean? Wow. wow...I mean..wow..
"Weather (n.) - The state of the atmosphere at a given time and place, with respect to variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure."
..so you heat up this part here and THAT'S global warming you see.....and well, then it doesn't effect the weather you see because weather is...um...
OK, my head just exploded.

"Global warming is real, I've never said otherwise, I am saying however that global warming does not affect the weather and there has not been any scientific fact to prove so, only speculation."

What??? That makes no sense whatsoever."Why yes inspector, there is a 8" knife in the eye of the victim, but that's not the cause of death. He died when his heart stopped, you see. And the idea that he was killed and this isn't some manner of ill-conceived suicide is just mere speculation."
- gramme0
ah hell. It never frickin ends, does it?
- mrdobolina0
you are a fucking partisan hack douchebag.
That is why I cannot be nice to you. So eat a dick.
- garett_west0
It must kill you guys that for the first time in your lives you have no one to blame, and you can't blame Bush. That must tear you up inside.
haha.

GW, I'm confused.
Is it your contention that yes, humans create pollution, and that's a bad thing. However said pollution is of little or no consequence to the possible heating of the climate of the earth?
Just to be clear...

(Aug 10 06, 12:17)Yes you are confused. Global warming is real, I've never said otherwise, I am saying however that global warming does not affect the weather and there has not been any scientific fact to prove so, only speculation. And, please note, the Earth's average near-surface atmospheric temperature rose 0.6 ± 0.2 °Celsius (1.1 ± 0.4 °Fahrenheit) in the 20th century. Yes. 0.6.
Temperatures have risen over the last century (somewhere between 0.4 and 0.8 °C) and the proportion of this warming that is due to human influence is still open to question. The current scientific consensus, as expressed in 2001 by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS), and recently confirmed by a joint statement of the G8 academies of science, is that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities... most... not all. Even at a 0.6 degree increase, MOST due to humans would be 0.4 degree increase. What would the other % increase be due to then?
Blame it all on humans? That's just the tip of the iceberg.
- TheBlueOne0
pollution is bad, mmkay.
mrdobolina
(Aug 10 06, 12:18)

Agreed. Just seeing if GW's position is that pollution has no measurable relation to climate change

How did I skew the facts?
You deny human factors in global warming and then I asked you for a reason why you have a hybrid, pretty simple you insecure fuck.
- garett_west0
You are the one denying human factors in global warming but agreeing with conservation.
why do you drive a hybrid?
mrdobolina
(Aug 10 06, 11:59)Once again, skewing the facts of what I said. I SAID humans are polluting. That's it. Never said global warming was affecting the weather.
I have a hybrid to cut down on pollution, yes, but also I'm not paying out my ass for gas with a car that gets 22mpg. It's my little way of saying fuck you to the oil companies.
Stop skewing the facts to try and work for you. It's not working.
- Crouwel0
this is a subject for scientific research, not for debate. it will be nothing more then speculation.
that's why i can't imagine joining this discussion. bit of a waste of time imho.
too complex and we know so little yet..
Crouwel
(Aug 10 06, 10:53)That was the whole point of my original 'Global warming - Hurricane' thread.
Last hurricane season a vast majority of NT was blaming global warming.
Crouwel, without even knowing it you totally got the point.
Thank you my friend.

(Aug 10 06, 10:58)eh, yer welcome, i guess..
