this is a subject for scientific research, not for debate. it will be nothing more then speculation.

that's why i can't imagine joining this discussion. bit of a waste of time imho.

too complex and we know so little yet..

That was the whole point of my original 'Global warming - Hurricane' thread.

Last hurricane season a vast majority of NT was blaming global warming.

Crouwel, without even knowing it you totally got the point.

    Thank you my friend.

Garett I tried that the other day and mrdoboldodger and the rest of his bigoted friends just wont ever be able to speak without insults so I imagine I will see you back here where I am, down to their level speaking to them as the only way they seem to understand.

I will end this now with a big fuck you, you fuckstick to mrdoboldodger. Smoke up loser.

  • garett_west0

Garett, stop being a fucking pussy.....you dish out the shit but you can't take it? So many times on NT you are a giant douche to people and then when someone gets up in your face you cry fowl...get some fucking balls bro.

desingnaked. I actually like you and I'll take all that and tip my hat to you. I deserved it, but this today is part of the new leaf I'm trying to turn over on NT. Talking like mrdobolina to everyone really (in my mind) was making me look bad in front of all my peers. (You). So I'm trying to be better at having conversations with people.

You muther fucking, cock-sucking baby fucking two balled flying piece of baby shit ass fucker.

    haha. jk.

I took your post pretty well didn't I? And I can take it. Really, 99% of NT can fuck with me and I'll laugh it off, and even praise you when you dog me out for it. But when guys like mrdobolina who daily make it a point to fuck with everyone who he doesn't agree with, it pisses me off.

garett you are in top form today!

  • garett_west0

So Garett, if you are this ecolkogical dynamo, what is your beef with the rest of us?

You are the only one who keeps harping on cars and SUV's. I mentioned coal plants earlier and heard fucking crickets from your corner.

Why pick one thing out of arguments?
    mrdobolina
    (Aug 10 06, 10:16)

Are you kidding me? For weeks I've been harping on you guys for dogging the SUV drivers of America.

I must have posted 4 times that auto emissions only account for 20% of the air polluting sources.

I must have posted at least 3 times General Electric's Evolution, the world's most advanced diesel-electric locomotive. The locomotives represent a breakthrough in fuel efficiency and pollution reduction, the later important because trains traditionally have been exempt from environmental controls. The 4,400-horsepower Evolution uses five percent less fuel than other locomotives of the same power -- which means a lot since a typical locomotive burns 1,000 gallons of diesel per day -- and emits 40 percent less pollution. General Electric is at work on a hybrid locomotive that would achieve further reduction in emissions and fuel use.

And that the Evolution is selling like crazy in part because the George W. Bush administration imposed the first national emissions standards on locomotives; also on construction equipment, off-road vehicles, marine engines and other previously unregulated sources of diesel exhaust. Bush further required that diesel fuel itself be "reformulated" to reduce inherent pollution content. Did you know that President Bush ordered a major strengthening of clean-air law? Of course you didn't, since the mainstream media refuse to report this.

Public-health studies have linked diesel exhaust to asthma. Given that a major federal initiative is now underway to reduce diesel emissions, future asthma rates should decline. And how many companies and businesses globaly use machines that run on diesel fuel, thus... the 40% on the pollution coming from industry.

You guys my friend, tote the SUV arguement, I mearly am setting you straight.

  • Balance0

I seriously don't get people's opposition to it.

It's just that there is two types of people. The ones who will make appropriate changes to avoid any potential damage and will do this intelligently then there are the ones like mrdoboldodger who completely panic, are fear based, blame politicians and want to idealistically make a rapid change without any thought to its economics.

  • Crouwel0

fuck this fuck that fuck off fucking fuckerdefucking fucksters fucking fuck for fucks sake!

  • Balance0

And again, quite hypocritical of you, seeing as how I JUST read over a response from you "uh... I fucking love it man, these guys got their asses handed to them today" like this is the jocks vs. the stoners back in 9th grade. Grow up. Have some class.

    Fucking hell that was funny!

have some class? What, while you lie and bullshit all day?

Sorry, I like to see idiots get their asses handed to them around here.

I feel bad for mrdobolina sometimes. It's like he has no information so he stands sideline and pretends he's a part of a conversation.

  • designaked0

Balance, get a fucking job, get off of NT and do something productive with your life. You continuing your crazy rants on NT is like climbing Everest on crutches bro...good luck with that.

See because smog is caused by the local mountains and the high temperature and shit.

You know, just like all the smoke in a car is caused when you have all the windows rolled up, not because you're in there smoking a cigar. That has nothing to do with it...nothing at all.

Hey Gramme, I understand your cynicism about the trio of politics, religion and ecology. I mean there are lots of powerful interests all around. I always try to find the personal counterparts to this stuff, you know. As above, so below as they say...

So I'd compare it to ethics, character and health on a personal level...it's when humans go into self-denial and self-delusion (one of our strongest traits actually) where we get into trouble, (see Tragedy, Greek). We could certainly argue about abortion and the role of private markets and the Public commons, etc..but when it come sto ecology, like you r personaly health, it kinda has the power to make all the other things kinda moot. Like Hey I just won the lottery, but found out I got terminal cancer. Bummer, eh?

I mean, if we're promoting personal wealth and liberty at the expense of our species health and future propagation, what's the point? I think that would be a matter of some urgency to investigate. Kinda like going to the gym everyday and keeping your diet up to snuff...

  • garett_west0

GW, I'm trying to take you seriously, but what is going on with you here...yeah Smog is a localized condition when ground pollution interacts with geological/climate conditions, but...umm...er...wit hout the pollution sp[ewing humans there'd be no collection of it, regardless of atmopspheric/geologi cal conditions. Just not following you here bud...
    TheBlueOne
    (Aug 10 06, 10:02)

Last thing I'm gonna say before I split.

My point is smog would exist over every city in the world, as they all produce various types of pollution, but natural land geology basins trap in smog in certain cities around the world so people can see it, and have something visible to fear.

It does not mean those cities produce more pollution than others, they are just unfortunate enough the have all the variables necessary to produce the visible smog.

With all the other cities it gets dissapated into the atmosphere or blown away and what have you.

  • CALLES0

the whole thing its very ironical... here in miami when we got hit by like three hurricanes it took the city pretty much about a year to fix all the signs, palm trees and other stuff that got screwed... so in other words they fixed it right on time for them to get blown away again in hurricane season... it makes not sense what so ever... specially when each freaking royal palm is over 100K

  • TheBlueOne0

So there is a high pressure area over Chicago and Millwaukee?

Just as big of cities, no smog, no high pressure areas.

    Wrong.

    Sorry.

    sorry i'm late.

*slapz the shit out all whiney bitches, 90% of thread.

  • garett_west0

so ok, mr west, you're more interested in provoking dobs and pretending to be hurt when he lashes out.
    duly noted.
But seriously, give me a convincing reason why conservation and ecology efforts are wrong/bad/against your religion.
I seriously don't get people's opposition to it.
    GreedoLives
    (Aug 10 06, 09:50)

Not so. I was mearly answering his questions in every one of my posts in this thread. Go back and look. I have not once provoked him. Not once.

And you're assuming I'm some aluminum can tossing out the window pollution nut.

I drive a hybrid. I'm anal about recycling. When I can I ride my bike to the store (my bike prolly isn't as cool as dob's but it does have a grocery rack). I would LOVE to someday have a house utilizing wind, solar and renewable energy sources, and I LOVE the fact that the big car manufacturers are doing what they can to make a difference on their end. But in reality, car emissions are only 20%... 20% of the pollution affecting this earth. Have you ever seen photos of China or Japan's factory districts?! Their smoke stacks look like someone took a pack of toothpicks and threw them into the ground.

I'm losing my train of though. Need food.

Greedo. It was an honest to God pleasure having a conversation with you. You at least can talk like an adult. Can't say the same for some others.

Maybe I'll talk more after lunch.

    Wha? That made no sense.
So outline your reasons against conservation. Smog is but a facet, i'm interested in your big picture view.
