(Jul 27 06, 10:29)Actually we're winning. We're Just losing the propaganda war.

"through the mainstream media is probably doing the most damage than the actual physical war"
you ususally are pretty educated about some of your points , even though I don't agree.
BUt that statement was one of the dumbest things I have heard this week. And I have heard alot.
Oh, and we are not winning. we are in fact losing. I want what your on so I can live in your sheltered world.

(Jul 27 06, 10:31)True that. The media whores fucking love reporting American casualties at it helps their Bush bashing news in prime time.
The media disgusts me.

algorithm I'm not sure how you figure we are losing in Iraq but I guess we can debate that in another topic.

come talk to me in 25 years when we are still knee deep over there. This is just the start.
- Mimio0
If you can't see that things have greatly escalated in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East you're not paying very good attention to the facts.

winning what? iraq's civil war?

(Jul 27 06, 10:36)algorithm WWII was an unpopular war as well and the U.S. caught a LOT of world heat and hate for fighting it. (Japan attacked us not Germany in the same way Al Qaeda attacked us not Iraq) I am sure people said the same thing you said back then too. I look forward to speaking with you in 25 years! ;-)
You're roping me in to another topic right now so let's try and stay on topic.

(Jul 27 06, 10:39)I never said they weren't escalating. I said we are winning the war.
- mrdobolina0
what facts do you have to back up that we are winning the war?

its part of the bigger picture Rep. We are just starting to ride the spiral. It's all connected.

Um , how do you define winning? I mean if you define it as destroying infrastructure, splitting the country into it's tribal sects, creating intersectarian warfare, creating conditions that don't allow for the formation of legitimate authority, setting up permanent bases which we will occupy for a lengthy period of time for no other reason than to justify "domination" in a region of vital strategic interest to the US and economic importance to the increasingly disproportionate wealthy in the US, and the ability for Republican senators to wave around purple fingers in the Senate every few years for a photo op, then hell yeah, we're winning...

mrdobolina
(Jul 27 06, 10:42)Sorry but what does your question have to do with the topic again?
I don't mean to be rude but mrdobolina I have never seen you stay on topic. That is why people say you dodge.

"WWII was an unpopular war as well and the U.S. caught a LOT of world heat and hate for fighting it."
What the fuck drugs are you taking? They're spiking the Kool Aid with Oxycotin now I see...
- mrdobolina0
what is the topic? you started talking about winning in iraq based on an article about zawahiri.
you are the true dodger.
- jevad0
It just...amazes me...how out of touch some people seem to be with the facts...and how they make facts up..almost as if to not have to think about the reality of it all.
Too much Fox News I guess.

(Jul 27 06, 10:47)I was thinking the same thing. After Pearl Habor there was lvery ittle dissent in the US about going to war, and a huge level of enlistment.
- TheBlueOne0
Republican, I gotta say that I admire you're sophic ability to keep twisting your responses and keeping the conversation "in your frame". But like most sophists, you;re generally full of crap.
I'm hardly a knee jerk lefty liberal. I tend to view foreign policy as to what is in the best interests of the US - and fighting an extended ground war in the middle east against islamic fundamentalists was a bad bad decision from day one.
When I find myself in agreement with Pat Buchanan and William F Buckley on this shit I know we're in some weird brave new world that transcends the "lefty-right" axis you try to keep using as a frame. truth is the Bush administration is in uncharted and very un-american waters.
And I don't buy the kool aid that islamic fundamentalism is a threat to the US on par with the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. It's a joke...
