that duo 2 would be nice! mine works great and is fast but maybe an upgrade at the ned of the year.

Price is definitely a concern at the moment because anything I don't use for my laptop will be going towards my school tuition. So I won't have anything left afterwards, which is why I want to get the extra space and DVD burner included with the laptop instead of getting all that stuff later. Plus, I don't need anything fancier than the 80GB Satellite (I linked above), since it's already lots more space and has more functions than I had before.

take a look at the dell i linked to before. the processor's faster. same memory size, hard drive size, has a dual-layer dvd drive and about a $100USD cheaper.

thanks vw. I really like that Dell, but I'll have to think about it. I just don't use credit cards on the interwebbs, so that may be a problem but it all depends on if I can find something similar near my home.

vw, I think I'm actually getting the Dell instead. although the value code doesn't work anymore...

Sorry for bumping this thread again, but I finally decided between the Dell and Toshiba, and I bought the Toshiba one last night :)
It's so sleek and full of space and other wondrous things, and I've only had it for less than one day.
I think I have about 2 years warranty on it. I just hope it can last more than 1.5 years, as my other laptop didn't.

good call! you won't regret it.

Another reason I bought it is because I (for some reason) would have to wait 2 weeks for the Dell to arrive to my house, which is too long.

yeah dell sucks, you choice with the toshiba

it shouldn't go bad, i have two toshiba's myself, neither is dead. one is 4 years old, the other is 1 year old.

thanks. do you know of any covers I could use for it? since I hate when it gets dirty. I'm keeping the cover that came with the system for the top part, but anything for the keyboard or screen? Also, how do you clean your screen?
- vwsung18t0
the plastic things that just sticks to the top? i just leave that on actually. now that i think of it, i keep the plastic thing on most things i buy, mostly because i don't notice it. then it eventually falls off and i think, whoa, it got so clean. well anyway, i guess i don't know where to get covers because i don't really care about stuff getting dirty so i'm not very useful.
as for cleaning the screen, i just spray windex or something on a terry cloth i use to clean everything inside and lightly wipe it down. just don't rub too hard or else you'll make dark spots on the lcd.

Okay, I actually found this awesome site for protective covers:

I'm thinking of just using some plastic wrap instead of buying the covers though.

oh i didn't know you meant for the screen. i guess that'll. i just don't use things like that for my screens, maybe i should.
